No, neither do I. I wouldn't have that much of a problem with an extra one, but to me, 10 looks like the SL wants to make the league a 14-team SL, because we haven't got enough SL quality players to fill another 2 teams, which would be nuts imo. Why 3 extra, that's a big jump to say we currently have 7, so a 40% ish increase. None of it makes sense before we know what our next TV deal is gonna be. No way we can move to 2 extra teams next year on the current amount of money each team receive, and I didn't think most of the SL owners wanted it anyway. We'll see.

Does that include overseas players who do not count,  as they have been in this country so many years Like Field of Wigan .

The original plan was to only exclude from the quota those having five years playing in the SL. I guess a lot of clubs thought this was not the way to go hence the change for all to 10.

Another announcement tomorrow. Wonder if it’s Walmsley? 

I see we have another announcement tomorrow, unfortunately the video clue is lost on me unless it relates to speed.

Think it’s referencing the train The Flying Scotsman, which is also nickname for Walmsley. Might be reaching a bit here though. 

I hope so because he has proven himself in SL once given a run (sorry) in the team.

I can see it being Walmsley. He is improving steadily and there’s value in that. 


I’d still like to see Croft and Cozza signed up. They’ve also improved their game and squad value this season.


In fact I’m happy with only a handful leaving and a handful coming in year on year while adding to the squad every year piece by piece. 


Walmsley, Croft, Cozza and one or two more quality additions (probably a prop and maybe a second row) and I think I’d be happy. 

I'm happy if it's Walmsley but I'd still like to see us sign another winger unless they feel Myers and the Hull KR kid will develop for next year.

In his Yorkshire Post interview, prior to the Tevaga announcement, Ellis stated that we had signed three players but only announced Smoothy... And that dependent on the quota ruling we are likely to see four or five new additions to the squad in total. I certainly think Lachlan, Croft and Cozza have earned the chance... Whether the coaching staff see that as enough to take the team forward??? Only time will tell!

I just glad I don't have to make the decisions...

He did mention using Rourke for cover in the centres or on the wing.
