| Quote BarnsleyGull="BarnsleyGull"The frustrating thing is that now - having dared to watch it - our stats in the 1st half [iattacking wise[/i were excellent!
......Until we got into their 10....
Reminded me of Dirty Leeds away tbh....
Oh for someone like a Pauli Pauli or Big Dave close to the line.....
I'm pretty sure we'd have score a few tries with someone of their size....
And that would have made the team confidence soar....
But then cue to abject defending......
"After you Claude" as the Hull players jogged over the try line........
Made a note in my diary - simply says Bo**ocks.'"
We had Lineham shoot off his wing to tackle Mr Invisible, leaving a stroll in and then 2 tries where players were literally looking at each other, expecting someone else to make a tackle. You tackle him, no, you tackle him and then. Oops they've scored (again)
Lineham is pretty good going forward but, he doesn't have enough desire to defend, just what was he doing for their first try.
He saw something or somebody that wasn't there, it was bizarre.

| I have to say in Lineham's defense, this was by far his best game for Wakefield.
They targeted him with high balls and he took them all under pressure. There was one attack where he had 3 coming at him at speed and he snuffed it out, with help from Dagger covering.
Dagger's defense kept us in the game for a long time. Much as I like Max, we'd have been 18 nil down without Dagger in the first half.
You can probably say that about a lot of the team for 90% of the game. They just seem to switch off periodically. I honestly don't get it. We attack their line. Make a small error but then sit there crying about it as they storm up field. It's not a one off, it's a consistent thing. No idea why.

| What I don’t get is our ‘attack’ and game management.
Last night for instance we ran a kickable penalty we had when our chance of crossing their line was remote. Needless to say we fluffed that chance and 2 points we could have had.
We are no threat with ball in hand.
Gaskell and Langi are surely the slowest centres in SL and the Smitg/Lino partnership isn’t good enough.
Dagger pulled off some great tackles but he isn’t the threat in attack that Jowitt is.
All told, roll on September and put us out of our misery.
I can’t watch much more of that rubbish.

To be fair wrencat, I saw that player that he was looking to tackle too....
Mind you, I'd had a few by that point....

| Quote Manuel="Manuel"High fives and laughter on the balcony, high fives etc in the changing rooms, meanwhile, Tony Smith was drilling his instructions into his team.
Embarrassing and an insult to the word amateur. We’ve seen some crap down the years but this takes the biscuit ( or pie and peas).'"
Yes I noticed the difference in the changing rooms on Sky TV. I hope some of the board do aswell. Pictures such those paint a thousand words about the difference in an experienced SL coach and an inexperienced one.
As a result Trinity start second half sluggish and allowing runs from dummy half whereas Hull are all fired up.
Did Proctor just play first 20 mins then just last 10 mins of match?

| so the cats out of the bag no money and championship bound. So no change of coach or new signings. Well thanks for saving us and your legacy will be killing us. Lets hope the stand and field bring in the projected revenue so we can at least pay the loan back. Maybe the football will be the main attraction next season, because the contempt you have shown the rl fans this season serving ths crap up and expecting them blindly to keep shelling out has been disgusting.

| I think a lot have been patient due to Mash's reputation with the club but its clear now that we are not well coached. The players absolutely deserve their share of the criticism, but for the most part I think the effort is there. Most games we defend well for long periods, and have good field position. Problem is when we are camped in an opponents 20, we don't look like scoring. No speed, no structure, rarely a decent attacking kick. Squad is obviously not up to scratch, but a decent coach gets more out of this bunch. Not the man to lead us in the championship, if we can get rid now, I would. Ford is also clearly not the answer.
Also... why on earth he still selecting Proctor? Offers nothing, barely on the pitch and when he is constantly looks injured/tired.

Totally agree, it was very similar at Cas too.
We had enough ball, in the right areas on that ay, to win 3 or 4 games but, no idea what to do.
There is no apparent structure when we are in the opposition 20.
Every player is spread across the park, with no dummy runners and nobody coming back on an angle and this assumes that we complete the attacking set, which isn't often enough.

| I've got a season ticket but stopped going a while back.
Looking forward to a fresh start under new management (if that does actually happen) though, clearly rather be in the top league than consigned to the lower divisions.

I'm with you on that Charlie.
I'm just not inspired by Carter. If we were losing but had an Accountant that was full of energy, optimism and open mindedness then you'd probably go for that and see some leadership - it's contagious I believe and maybe that's why the club is rotten. Even Uncle John Minards has gone quiet, who is an Accountant with some leadership and enthusiasm.
Carter's "my way or the highway" approach is tedious. The negativity is stifling. Criticism of the state is not allowed. Dissent is rewarded with banishment. The followers are now being told that the Championship is good, and that the Great East Stand will save us. Super League is bad, all of those fascist Chairmen who conspire against us, and those compcit at IMG. We don't need them. Let me show you this bright new beginning called the Championship. The water is warm down here.
People are beginning to believe...
