| Quote: TheDreadnought "Not that anyone really wants to watch them but I could currently get a season ticket at Huddersfield for £80! The question still stands, it would be interesting to see what other clubs are doing to compete with that.
This does also outline that lower prices do not mean more fans. I'm just genuinely curious about what clubs are doing to try and compete with each other on pricing and attendances.'"
And their owner subsidises that club to the tune of £1million per year.

| Quote: TheDreadnought "You're avoiding the question.
Budget being the most important thing of all, the SL season finished on Saturday officially. That means families with bills and children to prioritise have to find £55 per month (per person) to find.
I've sorted my ticket already, so I don't have to worry but the comment at the end of last season in jest or not about selling more season tickets is absolutely laughable at these prices.
So I will reiterate it would just be interesting to see how teams like Wakefield are trying to mimic the NRL deals and do we ever see Adult ticket pricing ever dropping?'"
No I don't see the price dropping unless the next tv deal is massive. I'm beginning to think you a previous owner

| Quote: homme vaste "Go get one then, you obviously have a great deal of love for the Huddersfield club.
Do you know how much money Davy pours into the club to allow them to spend up to the cap and play out of that shiny stadium, or do you think it comes from there £80 seasons tickets?
Take a look around old boy, nobody in the league is trying to compete with Hudds £5.70 a game value, they are all relatively similar pricing outside of them, maybe you should question why Hudds are devaluing the game that much that you have to ask these questions?'"
I don't have a love for Huddersfield, I just get free tickets and the odd invitation. Huddersfield have the luxury of only paying towards 30% of their ground costs which I'm presuming is one of the main reasons for them been able to offer a reduced price.
This is where your hatred for me is blinding you from reading my point. I've already sorted the money for my ticket but I'm saying comments like we had at the end of the season about being able to spend the cap if more season tickets were sold (in jest or not) are laughable when charging the prices they do, a lot of people simply cannot justify pricing like this, especially when other clubs blow us out of the water.
Apart from the 3 monthly payments of 70 odd quid we don't even offer any sort of monthly price. You can get a ticket at KR for £19.99 per months, with £20 upfront. Much more realistic for working class families in the North...

Thanks for clarifying, I've never had any affiliation with the club apart from being a fan.

You think the reason they are able to offer season tickets at £80 is because they only pay 30% towards the rental of there stadium? Nothing to do with the million pound a year Ken Davy throws at them no?

And at the risk of getting called a troll it's all relative, most football families aren't travelling to sit in a shed Willzay, not to say I don't love Belle Vue.

Fair contradiction there.
So your gripe is with the "quality of BV" rather than the price then, at least we are clear about your gripe.
As said earlier, I'd take BV with all of its faults, over the empty, soulless John Smiths stadium, all day long, which is why they struggle to sell tickets at £80, never mind a more realistic price.
At £80 a pop for season tickets, we'd have to be getting 15000 a week at BV - you do the math.

It's one of the factors absolutely, I won't deny that but I am asking what the club (and other clubs in SL) are doing in the background to compete with NRL prices, £80 season tickets and £19.99pm plans. All of which I am not speculating about, I'm providing facts.
More realistic pricing or payment options to me *key word* could bring more fans, shop sales and match day profit on consumables.
Does anyone know how many season tickets we sold last year?

| I'm sure MC has said in the past that the in-ground sales (booze, food etc) don't see a significant raise in revenue for matches that have cheap tickets.
We've tried cheap tickets before and went bust, Bradford did the same when they were in SL.

It's not the number of people. It's the income they bring.
Cheap tickets needs to bring a significant increase.
Also, your point about competing isn't valid.
Our prices have no relevance to NRL or even other super league teams. We are competing against the other things that people in Wakefield spend money on.

Why isn't it valid?
Fundamentally everythingthat happens at Wakefield including pricing, facilities, players, staff, fans, on field performance, even the car park count towards the only thing any fan should care about and that's making a success of Wakefield Trinity.
So comparing other clubs in the same sport IMO is 100% valid.

| Sick to the back teeth of people digging the club out over ticket prices. It costs what its costs - if you don't like it don't come. It is quite clear the price points have been set to fit in with the business plan that is keeping this club alive. I'm sure the club would like to play all home games at 3pm on Sunday or any fixed time by SKY call the shots and pay a significant wedge to the lcub for the rights to do that. If anyone is able to plug the approx. £2m funding gap per annum required to tell Sky to do one then please stump up now. Otherwise shut up.

Funnily enough that's not how forums work.

| Why should we be competing with NRL prices anyway? I reckon 75% of Wakefield don’t even know what the NRL is, let alone the ticket prices.
