Unfortunately, we are now out of the running for Sam Williams'"
Hope you heard wrong as neither of those two will solve our half back problems

| I fully agree Tricky.
From a mate who I get on same bus to work with. Apparently it is in one of the Rugby League weekly papers, but not sure which though.
Couldn't see us getting Brierley if Huddersfield were to stay up.
For me, I think the best we could hope for if we were the vultures, would be for Salford to go down, and us to go for O' Brien and either Dobson or Lui

| Trying to take any emotion out of who I want to go down and just try and think what would be the best outcome for Wakey. Realistically we will be in the Middle 8 next season. With Leigh in SL the danger sides from the championship will be Bradford and Toulouse plus this seasons relegated SL side . So my thinking would be that it will be good if the SL side that is relegated this season imploded just enough to weaken them to the point of making them noncompetitive. If Huddersfield are relegated I just do not see Ken Davey walking away, I think he will continue to bank role them. It is believed that he ploughs in £ 600,000 every year just to keep them afloat, if Hudds go down Davey will make sure that the team will be a real threat in the middle 8`s. I would not want us playing them in the MPG. Hull KR seem to be getting their act together, Tim Sheens and Peacock will surely get them playing well and will bring in some quality players. I do not imagine that Hudgell will walk away and with KR`s great support they will put a strong team together who again I would want to avoid in a MPG. The big question is will Koulcash walk away from Salford if they are relegated, will his ego allow him to walk. I think Salford going down would represent next seasons middle 8 SL teams best chance of retaining SL status, if and only if Koulcash does walk.

31007_1580947500.jpg EVENTUALLY, WE'LL WIN SOMETHING, ,MAYBE, IF I'M STILL ALIVE THEN:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_31007.jpg |

| If I read the league table and points difference correctly, if Leeds beat Huddersfield, all Hull KR need to do to avoid the MPG is put as many points as possible on Featherstone (and win, obviously) and then not lose against Huddersfield by the same margin the following week. If they put a decent score against Fev, that might be too much for Salford.
What struck me about Huddersfield on Saturday, other than how fat Huby looked, was how unhappy and nervy the players looked.

| I have to say Hudds are the favourites to go down.
If they do, they can't possibly keep that squad together.
If I was picking for Trinity, clearly we could do with one of their centres as it isn't our strongest area but all their 3/4 will be courted by other teams.
McGillivray will be on his way if he wants to keep his England shirt, as will Cudjoe.
Not sure about Murphy. I've always liked him but we are stocked on wingers now and he hasn't made the move to centre that people thought he would.
Wardle is interesting. I can see them keeping him but he is worth a shot for another team.
The half backs are interesting. Clearly Brough at his best could pick his team but he isn't at his best right now. He's a great player and I'd love to see him take over from Finn when Finn steps down, but even though he could probably lap Finn on the way to a try, I rate Finn's character and leadership as more valuable than that so not sure Brough is the guy.
Ellis I like but I can't see him coming to us and Brierley isn't good enough to be leader yet in my opinion, though I'd clearly take him.
The forwards I don't think are all that (in terms of breaking the bank to get them) They've had injuries this year and it looks pretty shot now. Huby would be the one you'd think of but he looks well off his game. The form version of Huby would be my pick of the forwards. Lawrence will be targeted by others and the rest are no better than we have. Certainly the front rowers aren't.
If Salford go down I'd happily take half of their team. Lui when fit was unstoppable. Kopczak would be a nice addition to our front row and O'Brian is clearly good and would fit us perfectly but a bit lightweight. They could probably afford to keep their team together though, and if not would be on big wages anyway.
We don't have Vulture type wallets at Wakefield so we'll have to take what is offered to us, but clearly some players are going to be available soon.

Indeed, I love Trinity but nowhere near that much - way OTT.

| Yeah, he really needs to shake his head, this club means a lot to me but in the cold light of day it's sport and entertainment, nothing at all like life and death.

| The qualifiers take another twist with London beating Salford.
Next week could see Salford not even attaining the MPG if they lose to Batley away and London beat Fev at home.
So glad we only have the Super 8's to moan about.
