Thurling would be an instant fans favourite at Wakefield. I think he will provide something different more punch than you currently have upfront. I think whilst you have a solid frontrow you lack a player to get his nose through the line. Thurling will give you that.

So unless he is bringing in a player who is under 21 or he's getting rid of John as well as Southern, I can't see how he can bring 2-3 in.

There are a fair number of dual nationality players like Widdop out there, maybe it's one of them. But yep the math doesn't seem to work.

The problem is jonh this has all the hallmarks of being Troncgate II, given the comments attributed to Thurling in one of the papers down under, he would not be coming over out of choice and would likely want to go back if he was playing well enough to attract a contract offer from the NRL.

That's the only thing that concerned me from the original article that it said he was reluctant- do we really want a player with a risk like this?
