And then they peddle the (you only stayed in because of Crusaders) line, if only the RFL had not turned a blind eye to certain other clubs problems
I got told at the time 2 clubs would get the chop before us and i still believe to this day thats its true.'"

I'd put more blame at the doors of the administrators for the way this has been dealt with and those who got them in it in the first place.'"
I agree. Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the RFL pay our players' wages when we were in admin? I presume AG had to pay them back, but all the same, to help people out who have families to feed and mortgages to pay seems a pretty decent thing to do, if you're in a position to do it. Where I struggle with this one is the issue of the backroom staff, who also have the same problems, but seemingly no support.

| Quote: Sandal Cat "It seems that the consortium looking to buy the Bulls want Odsal handing back to them. I'd be a little wary of someone who as a condition of purchase wants Odsal back rather than being prepared to rent from the RFL. Okay it makes them more secure but the RFL allegedly purchased the lease from the Bulls to protect this iconic stadium from predatory Developers. I'm sure the RFL are clever enough to sell them the lease at market value and place covenants to ensure that it remains used for Rugby League rather than risk someone buying the Bulls cheaply and then selling Odsal for development and making a killing.'" Perhaps they want the ground in order to secure future loans against. Another point to note is that according to a local radio station, the 'consortium' is made up of, amongst others, a restuarant owning business and a property developer. I wonder why the latter would want to get involved in a loss making business? It must be because they have been a Bradford fan since the days of Northern

I think that's probably the point. It's the only asset they'd have. I know that AG was arguably in a worse position, but our debts were also smaller by comparison, and Bradford don't have a similar Newmarket option on the horizon either.

| Quote: bren2k "The talk is of a consortium of Bradford businessmen from the Asian community - good stuff if true.'"
I think it would be a wonderful thing too, and not (just) for culinary reasons.
If a local asian community saves a working class white mans' sports club, it may cause a few people to rethink their ideas. They're damned if they don't integrate, and they're cast with suspicion if they do. Any businessman, regardless of their background, would look at what's in it for them before signing on the dotted line.

If all they were interested in was the land and the leasehold, surely they would have made a bid from the off?
If they don't want any of the young players to go, that must indicate they're interested in the club as a going concern?
Any buyer will try and get the best deal they can.

Or thy would rather sell the players themselves so they get the money rather than the administrator.

Don't get your point now, mate. They don't make their interest known earlier (so they're clearly not interested), then they come in late (and they're just looking for a bargain, like the rest of us).
Maybe Guilfoyle's voicemail wasn't activated in the pub in Ilkley?

You don't make big money from the majority of young players. Certainly not from young players with no valid contracts.

| It makes you wonder if Halifax are monitoring this situation closely. If Bulls come through this they may have their lawyers all over this as they should have had Bradfords place if the RFL would have done some more stringent checks when it came to the license process.
