When is the image rights thing gonna be sorted?

Not sure there is quite a bit of conjecture on this thread viewtopic.php?f=17&t=479080

I suppose it depends on whether they can do a deal with HMRC or not. My understanding is that the loophole is now closed and either the club or the player have to absorb the PAYE & NI cost. This should mean that most clubs will have a sizeable increment to their wage bill they may not have been expecting.

Quote: Lupset_Airport "i CAN IMAGINE WATCHING WINS INSTEAD OF DEFEATS COULD BE GOOD FOR US LONG TERM (grr) as at the moment some kids aren't wanting to go anymore. It's just painful if we get a good revitalised, confident & youthful side thrashing everyone that we can't see them doing it against the likes of Cas and Leeds.'"

Perhaps if you'd have watched the team in 2004, 2007, 2008, 2009 you would have seen more wins than losses - imagine that icon_rolleyes.gif

Not at all. Its all a matter of opinion. If you are happy watching Wakefield play Batley, Dewsbury etc. than thats great but there wont be many in Wakefield who will.

Quote: vastman "Spot on. If we have to go to the Championship then we will have to face it as best we can. That said there is IMO not a single positive and if AG doesn't invest and N/M doesn't happen in the first 12 month then as you say the club will simply die.'"

If Wakefield go in to the Championship I hope that your fans would not desert you as that would show those up to only want to watch the so-called glamour teams. If you follow your club you will support them no matter what league they are in. We did it at Castleford and I would hope Wakefield would get that too.

If previous experience counts it will start at about 2,400 dropping to about 1,200 or even 800 on a bad day within 3 years. icon_sad.gif

Sorry but you didn't. When you were relegated both times there was a direct route straight back to SL. This is not the case now, in fact it's completely different. Unlike ourselves and Fev Cas have not experienced what it's like to be trapped in a lower division. Sorry (again) but you need to give your head a shake if you think Cas wouldn't suffer dramatically in terms of support if they were condemned to Championship rugby with no guarantee at the end of it of getting back in.

Thats a long winded way of saying yes really.
The problem i have always though is, that buy and large the people of Wakefield (and i speak on the behalf of mostly all of them) are an apathetic bunch.
So if it is the case of SL or nothing, we may as well have packed in years ago, ok with P & R you always had a chance, but to think that we have no chance without P & R we may as well be dead now and save everyone the bother, because on assumption, we must remain at the top level for ever, and that in reality for a club like ours (being at risk for 2 out of 2 franchises) is not the case.

I've shared my thoughts on this, if we or Cas get relegated and Crusaders stay in, I'm done with the sport at all levels!

You have completely got it wrong what you have said. What you have put bears no resemblance one bit to what I posted.

I've felt much the same as you have before now and I eventually came to the conclusion that I would only be harming my club which would be doubly unfair. There is a great need in this sport to be more inclusive and to stop cutting existing fans out of the picture all the time. Stop treating us like an inconvenience. But alas, I was written off as bitter. You're damn write I was bitter and everything could have been handled much better and the same can be said this round of licensing too.

Its easy to keep fans when only out for a year have a good season and get back up you get the feel good factor and SL to look forward to after that, down for 3 years is a different kettle of fish. Thats why a lot of our fans would have taken last weeks rumour of us losing a franchise for just 1 season until Newmarket is build
