The only team who seem to be paying Fees are Toronto so that would be my guess.

| Heading this way so i'm told, although personally i'm not sure about paying a fee for someone who will be 32 before the year is out, has a lot of miles on the clock and in my opinion is on the decline. Still he'll be a solid signing and it's fair to say we will have plenty of front row options.

Definitely a SL club reported he has transferred to.

| Bren 2k, wasn't he Salford, and also Wales captain not too long ago.
I'm sure he was but may have been mistaken, and it was just a thought, as there has been discussions on here in the past, as to whether or not Kirmo should still be captain, with him not on the field as often.
I didn't realise also Sacred, that he was coming up to 32

| Just been on the Salford forum and they seem sad he's going. It's clear he gives 100% so assuming he's fit then his age doesn't bother me the guy is a quality signing and a true competitor.
If true I'm extremely happy with this one as it will mean we are no longer just a big pack but a tough one.

He may well have been - it just seems a bit of leap to suggest that a *rumoured* signing would roll up, do a pre-season, then run out as captain.
Having said that, although we all seem to have a view on who it should be, I'm not sure I understand entirely what the role of the captain is - so I've suggested Ashurt loads of times, because he seems like a model pro, a dynamo on the field, and an all-round nice bloke - but I don't really know what qualities and attributes are required.
Best get used to this I guess - off-season, not-news type discussions!

| A fee may well have been paid but it could be a couple of hundred pound admin fee. Don't read too much into the undisclosed fee bit.

Ashurst would probably be most people's choice. I think he is one of those "lead by example" type guys.
My only concern would be the same as I have had with Kirmo - is he vocal enough? We've all seen what an influence certain captains have on their team and even more so, the referee. I don't want a Wakey player constantly whining at the ref like some players do, but I do feel that at times we don't question some ridiculous decisions.

My thoughts also Fordy.
I really don't want to make comparisons but such as Turner and Fox led by example - by god I wouldn't have liked to have underperformed with Rocky Turner on the pitch. I saw him face to face with some of his team mates rousting them and encouraging them at the same time.
I accept things are different now, leadership qualities though remain the same to me. You have to lead by example and positively do something about your mates on the pitch. Likewise, make strong but acceptable representations to the referee.
I don't know who I'd burden with that role but one of the team must stand out.
