| We are a little light in the halves but I think McShane gives us more creativity from dummy half than Aiton did.
This could be the big factor in the make or break of the halves.

Like I said above, as you do when we sign guys you don't know too much about you go on their clubs forum. Just reading a few topics back on the Warriors site, I got it the wrong way round, he was being used as interchange Hooker by Matthew Elliot, when he got game time in the Warriors side. All those who wathced him play for the Vulcans can't believe he didn't get his chance in the halves, where he run the show in the NSW Cup over the last couple of years.
Tbh with what I've seen of him for Samoa & the highlights knocking around, I'm looking forward to see him play. If their fans are anythig to go by, we've got ourselves a very god player, who can lead a team around the field, loves setting up other players and a great kicking game especially short, quick as well.

| Quote: asmadasa "From what I've read and heard Godinet sees himself as a scrum half and NRL club tried to convert him to hooker for 9/10 matches. Sykes is a make shift stand off from 2 years ago so a genuine SL standard stand off is required if we are to really compete throughout the season IMHO.
That would probably explain why he looked more like a hooker on the odd ocasion i have seen him then. Looked very sharp out of dummy half.
Half back or hooker, whichever way you look we still look a bit short in the halves, but if there is no money left, then we just have to go with what we've got.

Correct, but we do have a genuine SH which is just as well.

| Godinet is an out and out SH - A lot of warriors fans belive he was the answer to there problems for a half parnter for Shaun Johnson.
Seijka was tipped for the next big thing in AUS, infact i remember reading he had a record contract for his age at penrith ?
The verdict seems to be lots of potential, shown some good stuff in NSW Cup - However 2 serious injuries in the past couple of seasons, which is always worrying and more so with younger players. Total punt, but who else is available ? I would agree with the fact we cannot rely on Sykes to be our only choice at 6 next season.

| Nice bit about Pita Godinet in today's Rugby League World. The Kiwiw correspondent says that we're going to love him. He goes on to say that he is one of those old style players who can make something happen out of nothing and isn't afraid to try his hand. He only got ten NRL games last year but the correspondent reckons he deserved more.
A good endorsement from someone who has actually seen him play!

Think if we've got anything left we need to stretch it to get Siejka now the league structure is changing... Alternative is may have to look at Luke Briscoe as the potential stand off back up to Sykes.

I hope not because although Briscoe is a talented player with a lot of potential there is no way he is a Stand Off. I think we would be more likely to see Lee Smith play there.

No a lot of sources say this, his primary position is in the halves. Also plays at FB

Really? He has played on the wing in both our pre-season friendlies, once for each side.
And when he signed the quote from Agar read "Luke is a strong, natural footballer who can play anywhere in the backline and can slot into the back-row if required". Doesn't mention the halves at all. i'd be worried if he was our main halfback cover.

Thats settled it then, wikipedia says so.
He is actually listed as a second row on the Rhinos site.
