I am not saying withhold all information but be selective on what you put into the public domain. We would not have known for example that KH was asked and refused to invest, by withholding this bit of the information it would not detract from the nucleus of the story.

By putting it on record that she was asked to invest, it prevents the clamour for her to invest.
Equally, if KH remains at the club for any length of time, will she become more likely to either invest personally or, to persuade others to invest.
Cant see that MC has done anything detrimental here.

It's easy to pick holes in what somebody else is doing, it's very easy to say too much or too little and either way you will get detractors.
He's put his money where his mouth is and therefore has earned done grace in my book, rather than being continually negative you should cut home some slack.
If you think you know better you know what you can do, as he has always said he would welcome someone with expertise that would benefit the club.

I think you're absolutely right with this and the comments in your previous post. Being open and honest about the financial position the club is currently in is all well and good if it encourages people to rally round and chip in where they can, but taken too far, it can have exactly the opposite effect.

If I were Kath Hetherington, I'm not sure I'd be too chuffed to read that I was being paid "a pittance" for my services either. It sounds a little demeaning. Focusing on her generosity might have been the way to go, but that's maybe easy for me to say when I'm not the one who's on the spot.

I imagine MC was trying to highlight that KH is not taking much out of the club in return for her expertise - a positive message, much of which is lost in translation without context and nuance; a good lesson in speaking to the media!

I have some sympathy with those saying that brutal honesty may not be the most helpful; honesty is good, but a bit less brutality might not go amiss.

I agree with most of what you say here and you may be right about the honesty issue but comments from some on this subject are out of order. MC has,I believeplayed a master stroke in appointing KH,and as far as I am concerned the financial side will be in the best interests of the club,otherwise he wouldn´t have appointed her. I honestly cannot believe some of this issues questioned on here

I totally agree with you - it's a very astute bit of work by the new BoD to get her involved, no doubt about that. I just wouldn't have publicised the fact that she'd declined to invest, nor would I have described her remuneration as a pittance.

The one sure thing is that Mrs H must be "happy" with her remuneration or, surely she wouldn't have come on board.
The "pittance" comment is probably more to try and indicate to others that she perhaps isn't getting a fortune which, in difficult times and when others may have lost their jobs, wouldn't look too great.
As I mentioned elsewhere, a good consultant is worth their weight in gold, so lets hope that everyone is on a winner !

Not sure why we are so interested in Kevin Henderson though. I can't imagine why he would be investing so why did we ask?

I have absolutely no problem with being told exactly how it is. It will make the decisions that will have to made by those in charge in the next couple of weeks or so easier to understand.

I for one i am glad we have two people running the club that can tell it how it is, that takes guts, honesty and a lack of ego.
IF we are in a position where further player sales are needed because of lack of funds then we cannot claim to be surprised, because it hasnt been powder coated in fluffyness in a desperate clamour to win a vanity competition.
At some point good news has to come in order for the club to progress but im happy for it to come from a platform based on fact and frankness.

As ever, it comes down to a discussion based on absolutes when in reality, that isn't what anyone has asked for; I'd suggest that there are many ways to communicate the situation that sit comfortably in between brutal truth and powder coated fluffiness.

it would be good to get official updates off Daddycool, on a weekly basis to keep all fans in the loop. this could be a way of saying things are going in the right direction or brace for the bad news..
