| Smith has been consistently average/poor all season, this is why people are getting frustrated when every other team in SL has a player in the halves that take the line on, create problems/half decent kicking game. I fear Smiths's fate is sealed at the end of the season and rightly so. Bring back Tommy Lee all is forgiven.......... Errr maybe not.

| Don't want to see us without Smith against Cas but I don't think either of John or Wood would be missed.
Collis runs hot and cold but still offers a lot more than Mellars.
Get Wildie and Walshaw back in.

| Dont agree with all this support the players no matter what tosh. If they cant handle disquiet from supporters then I worry about their mental toughness. By the way I am currently training a pup that at the moment is wazzing all over a variety of carpets in my house. I guess I am supposed to stand back and applaud him warmly before tickling his tummy and giving him a chocolate drop. I was thinking of berrating him in a direct manner and letting him know that he needs to change his behaviour - I assume that this would be cruel and effect him mentaly leading to a terrible life and subsequent suicide.

Are you suggesting Barbara Woodhouse should be our next coach?

I take your point, but in that case he is a player we can Ill afford, no pun intended.
Maybe he is in the wrong job.

Fair enough...I hope the next time you get a little bit of criticism you don't slit your wrists! Stupid comment! Fair enough, I don't expect him to be wrapped up in cotton wool and sing him a bedroom story to show how much we love him but he is far from the worst player on the field. I have attended Belle Vue for many years and that is the only time I have heard fans cheer and jeer a sub player in such a sarcastic manner. It is counter productive- simple as.

You could argue you that he is the wrong job. The reason why he went off the rails before was due to the tabloid pressure, criticism and expectation. The sad thing is that it would be the biggest waste of a player I could recall.

Her famous catchphrase of "sit" is just one syllable away from how i would describe Tim Smiths performances this year! For all those who talk about his quality and previous NRL experience I would suggest this has tainted your reality of his performances in a Wakefield shirt. Couldnt carry Danny Broughs jock strap in my opinion.

| WE need some grunt up front in the forwards, our halves cannot possibly be expected to perform when the platform is not laid for them. Wire had loads of go forward today, Carvel made at least 10 meters every drive with some offloads as did Woods and Hill between them we are too light and will need to invest in a couple of big lads up front the rest I would be happy with. I feel sory for raleigh and Southern they have no chance if they are are our go forward.
On another note why do we cough the ball up so much it killed us today.

Funny you should mention Tommy Lee, a player from last season's squad.
As I walked away from the game today, thoroughly fed up with losing yet another game that was there for the taking, I couldn't help but think how I'm not enjoying this season one bit and how I enjoyed last season 100%, no 1000% percent more. Many fans say that last season was our worst ever in Super League but was it really? Last season we had a team thrown together from kids and cast offs but with Morrison as captain and Kear as coach, we put in some half decent performances and picked up a few good wins along the way. I never went to one game last season expecting to win and when we did win it was a great feeling. The comeback at Wheldon Road and the last win at home to Bradford avoiding the bottom place were stand out games for me. I've not felt anything like I did at those games this season and probably won't.
The frustrating thing about this season is that we've got the players, we just aren't getting the performances. Even our wins against Catalans and Salford were nervy wins in the end in all honesty. Another 10 more minutes on the clock and we'd have lost both. There is only the Widnes game this season where we have been comfortable winners.
At 12-12 today, we looked like we were competing with (an albeit weakened (No Briers, Myler, Monaghan x2, Morley, Bridge) Warrington side and looked like we could win if we held our nerve. Even at 12-18 down, Marriano made a break but bombed the chance that would have seen us level again. To leave the ground 12-42 losers was shocking, embarrassing and not acceptable.
Some of the players on the field today have got twice the ability of last season's players but nowhere near the amount of grit and determination. I'm hating this season and can't wait for next season already. Fans should not be made to feel like this.

I dont buy that. If he did go off the rails it was down to a lack of mental strength. I sincerely hope that he has developed this in subsequent months/years. Smith is not the only person in the world who will have been criticised for his performance sporting or otherwise. If he cant cope with that then he is in the wrong environment.
