It's not [iour[/i ground, mate. It would belong to the community trust, and they can rent it out to whoever they like. It's as much Cas' or Fev's ground as ours... or Guiseley's...

I understand that but what I meant was if we were in NM and cas came asking it would mean they were desperate and maybe homeless.

| By the term community trust would be it be Wakefield area teams that qualify for it or could any team play there.

Serious question . ... I have seen mention of attendances soaring , and mention of employment statstcs improving in the area if and when the new stadia are built .
Where are all these new fans appearing from ? And are these 'new' employees going to be filling newly created vacancies , apart from the ones obviously employed it newly created posts as security staff at the new site ?
Are you expecting an imminent influx of overseas unemployed RL fans coinciding with the opening of the site and the decision of a foreign business to move onto the site at Newmarket ?
Or is it more of a 'build it and they will come' fantasy ?
Build it and people will point and laugh is truly what I am expecting . Though I do wish to be proven wrong on this .

| Just had a quick search on Google . Newmarket will create 2000 NEW jobs is the lowest estimate I could find , although there are quotes of upto 10K .

There will be warehousing, pubs, hotels and restaurants on the site which will all create jobs. The stadium and sporting facilities within it will be for the use of the whole community. These facilities are much needed in the area as WMDC don't seem to care for such things. Our crowds are up to an average of over 8,000 this season so it's not unrealistic to think a new stadium may bring in another 2,000 floating fans plus more away fans prepared to come to a better facility. Thus we should be looking at hitting that magic 10k figure. Thanks for popping by but try and make your post at least a tad humerous next time, cheers!

Do you think York Court Properties would outlay all this money based on a pipe dream. They are specialists in property re/developement and doubt they would do this without doing loads of feasibility studies. Have you seen our attendance increases thus far this season.? I am sure with a new stadium they can increase further.
Jog on you uneducated person.

What a mealy-mouthed, mean-spirited post; how very Leeds of you.
The plans for NM include warehousing and distribution, hotel and leisure facilities as well as the community stadium; estimates for new jobs and inward investment encompass not only the site itself, but the whole supply chain associated with it.
As for your dozy field of dreams analogy - it seems to have worked out ok for Warrington; certainly not an instant fix, but a vital first step in turning round the fortunes of WTW. I fail to understand your bitterness, other than perhaps the dawning realisation that Headingley will stand out like a sore thumb if WTW and Cas deliver on their respective stadium projects.

Bren you had it with one word "bitterness" - that's all it is, plain and simple. Some Leeds fans in particular seem to fear competition.

Are you for real ?
Of course crowds will increase at any new ground, even Salford have seen a "bounce" in their new stadium, not to mention Hull FC, Warrington etc.
Plenty of jobs as well, both in construction and then employment following the construction of the ground, warehousing, hotel etc
As for fantasy, it has been a very long process and perhaps without interference from our big city neighbours, perhaps this process may have been a little speedier, but certainly not fantasy.
You need to return to your favoured location "the naughty step" and wait until your carers say that you can come back and join in.
