If WMDC do it they really do show their true colours. Wouldn't surprise me with Box in charge.

Whatever happened to nothing can happen to "dis aggregate" the scheme, a word that I've only ever heard in relation to the Newmarket planning application, notwithstanding the fact that the Newcold unit seemed to circumvent everything, albeit there was some "doubt" that the Community Trust agreed to it being excluded.
Once could be a mistake but, a second planning application would be willful and would ask some severe questions of both WMDC and the planning process.

Which they've amply demonstrated they don't feel compelled or required to answer; YCP will not, under any circumstances, build a stadium at NM - it's a dead duck.

| What happened to all the objections on the other application? I guess the council will just hide behind the guise of more jobs etc. for the district if they accept another application.

IIRC at the time, WMDC said that one or more members of the Trust had been informed that Newcold would not count towards the trigger point (although there was no written evidence of this).
Since this time, Newcold has been substantially extended and now there is a new application for an additional unit.
As I said, NOBODY can deny knowledge of the criteria around the Newmarket development and the implications of any new/additional plans that would impact on the site.
As regards a community stadium at Newmarket, or anywhere else, I agree with you and it looks less likley now than at any time since the original inquiry.

| To put this into perspective, in roughly 6 months time it's 10 years since the original NM application went in.
I recall the public consultation at the time and being so hopeful. August 2009 was the date I was given when I asked when the stadium build would start.

| What happened to the Community Stadium Trust? It just seems to me that the towell has been thrown in! I may be very wrong and apologise if I am but the silence from all quarters if deafening.
All very frustrating that after all the lies and cheating nobody is held to task and absolutely no progress made!

And Box is still getting his whacking big pay cheque. Paid for by thee and me!!!! The man's luck surely must run out some time. I thought his predecessor, Pearman , was bad ( Rememember him ??), but at least he had the decency to disappear.

Don't think that's right. Pearman was the CEO which is a salaried Position. Same as the bint Rooney who was the CEO when most of the NM crap took place. Now we have another non descript waste of space on a 6 figure salary, so much so I as I type I can't even recollect her name.
Box is different, he is elected and therefore due to the political situation in the district, his position is far more stable than any paid CEO

You're quite right of course PB, he was a CEO (the highest paid in the country as I recall). By predecessor I was alluding to someone also dodgy that came before. We certainly know how to pick 'em in the 54th worst city in the UK.

| It’s 10 years next month that Thornes Park sports village was pulled by the council who then along with Sir Rodney Walker put Newmarket in the table.
