| This isn't a pop at the trust or the club here, but, we all call Wakefield council inept, for an inept council, they and their partners in crime (I use that title loosely) Yorkcourt have done a very good job of backing us up to the cliff edge, is there any way back? I can't honestly see it.

| Statements are all we've heard that's all Box & Co need to do keep us hoping . They're not interested in the stadium they're not under any urgency as we are . One thought how it could be done if we get kicked out of SL and placed in the Championship, MC, CB, walk away, then a little more than a lick of paint will do . The question who could possibly run the club , who has experience . Let's give it little thought oh Rodders or Ted Richardson maybe they were both great when they were here before. Just my thoughts. Sorry hope it all comes off but after so long , do you really still believe?

It certainly should appeal to the travelling opposition fans, but there is no guarantee it will encourage any increase in their numbers which would compensate for the loss of Wakey fans.

| Quote: Jizzer "The simple fact that it's right next to one of the main corridors that connects some of the 'big' cities in the north - the M62! Also there being enough space to set aside for people to actually park without having to plonk it on some random street, getting in and out would be alot easier too I imagine.Quote: Jizzer "
Newmarket is an absolutely fantastic sight for building an industrial estate on, as you have pointed out it's on the M62 corridor servicing all the big northern towns and cities as well as links with other motorways leading to and from the south, is that your basis for a new ground 8 miles to the north of the town.
What about all the fans with no transport who walk to the ground, are they expected to walk up to Bottomboat or rely on the bus company putting extra buses on matchday, as for plonking it on a random street, it's never been a problem before so why turn it into one now other than to suit your opinion.
Quote: Jizzer "Last time I heard, Manni was planning on putting apartment blocks and shops on the site around the proposed new ground. Doesn't leave much space for the ground, let alone access, parking, training pitches, ground expansion etc. Fair enough, the comment about Agbrigg being a dump is mainly cosmetic. However, lets be honest, if you had to choose a place to play every week you'd rather it be Rome than Syria wouldn't you?
We can can cling onto the 'best playing surface in SL' thing all we like, however it doesn't mean a whole lot in the grand scheme of things.'" '" '"
I take with a pinch of salt about whatever I read on here about what this manni's plans are, you mention shops and apartment blocks common sense tells there's not enough room for all the conjecture surrounding what's happening, there's one thing I'm dying to know, why are the council with all their land at their disposal building a new stadium on somebody else's land.

There's no guarantee it will mean a loss of Wakey fans either. Infact it could open the doors to closet Wakey fans who don't necessarily live in Wakefield but the Wakey post code, and are put off by the state of Belle Vue. I know a few of these.
And just to refer to your last post: it wasn't imagined up on here about Manni's plans to include apartments and shops on the Belle Vue site.

Also there is no guarantee it will bring in extra fans either, as for additional post presumably you can provide a link to this manni's plans announcement, or is it just speculation like your first paragraph.

| Not convinced that Belle Vue is any more inconveniently sited than Headingley, Halliwell Jones, JJB, new Saints ground, Wheldon Road, Widnes ground, Hull KR ground, KC Stadium. Of those, only Wigan and KC offer parking for your average fans.
Newmarket IS inconveniently sited. If you want to go, you've got to drive. You can't hop on the train or bus, or park and walk (due to the matchday restrictions that would be put in place locally). You'd be stuck with whatever queues exist, and we've seen how that has worked out at Salford. Lower home attendance.
The plus for Newmarket is the clean slate and decent parking for corporate clients, in somewhere new and glittering, and it's in the corporate boxes where you make the money. They're the ones who are throwing in the big money sponsorship deals and paying for the boxes. If the attendance remained the same, the extra corporate income for Newmarket would mean more money for better players, which might then increase attendance for better success, etc. It might have little impact immediately, but in terms of cashflow and money for players, Newmarket is where it was at.
My preference for Belle Vue is emotional only. But then again, that's why you follow a club.
Tricky.

| All the speculation is pointless from the likes of me. I do just wish we would get more updates even if it's just 'still waiting for this or that.' 'Expected news in approximately X ' that sort of thing. We've had big announcements then silence then it's all off again for years now. If this is real now, then updates would b a good idea. Good for season ticket sales too maybe

Nah it wasn't, it's at the top of his home site here. The pictures roll through if you stop on them. I know most have seen them before but for those that haven't rlhttp://www.88m.co.uk/rl
I'm in the bracket like many of I'll believe it when I see it, but also very much in the corner of, even if we do get a stadium exactly how it is designed on his artist's impression, what about the rest of the project that was promised, where's that money going. There was so much more to this than a stadium, let alone a tarted up Belle Vue of any kind. Obviously, time is against us and MC and fans will take what we can get to continue our journey but the whole Newmarket project story is scandalous imo.

Fill your boots fella. Not the original link/article I saw, but to be honest I can't be @rsed fishing around too much. Pretty sure this is visible on the artists impressions of the ground also.
".....purchase by 88m Group not just of the stadium itself but the adjoining former Superbowl site has revealed exciting new multi million pound plans for a new state of the art community stadium with student accommodation & retail park.”

Wasn't it suggested by someone that 88M had been offered other land around Wakefield, to compensate for the loss of the stadium land.

You could well be right who knows which brings me to my point, there's that much speculation and that many conspiracy theories going about and tbf most of them are credible that it's difficult to decide what to believe, there's one thing for sure manni and Box will know, whether anybody else comes close is everybody's guess.
Anyway my main point was in answer to jizz's claim that it would be better for everybody if we moved to Newmarket, well the short answer to that is no it wouldn't.

Not sure what you mean by 'everybody'. Would it be better for little old Margret who walks to Belle Vue from down the road? Probably not. Would it be better for the club in the long run, improve the match day experience and expand the fan base? We'll probably never know! We'll just have to agree to disagree
