| Quote: Jason "Amazing what a difference 48 hours make.
Two days ago we were all jumping off bridges. Now we are having a love in and all agreeing what a great piece of business Mr Carter has done. Sounds like we were on the edge and drastic action needed to be taken. I say to all those that are grumbling, take your cheque books in to the club and pay some of our debts off if you want to keep your favorite players.
Despite what Mr Glover has brought us one thing he's certainly not brought is financial prudence. Yes it's frustrating that two year down the line we are struggling again and we may point fingers but in Mr Carter he has the guts to make a swift decision that perhaps Mr Glover and Jimmy couldn't stomach. He's saved us from the edge and we still have a club.
So lets get behind him the club and the team. It's tin hat time again and their may be some more bitter pills to swallow.
Last time we sold a star half back to Salford was Garen Casey and he did nothing when he got there so we will just have to wait and see.'"
Because when we have all understood what has happened and read/listened to positive comments we all come to 1 in harmony

| Now the dust has settled and everyone is a lot clearer on what is happening. The statements about turning offers down for Kirmond are more reassuring. If we started to break our pack up, it wouldn't matter who we had in the halves, if your pack gets bullied, you backs can't do a thing. We have a great pack, that hopefully will allow Goulding, Kaye and Wilde to express themselves in the remaining 2 games.
Think you have to realise that this is the same Tim Smith that gets rubbished if we lose. If we had not sold him now, giving us breathing space til the start of next year to find a replacement and kept him. You can bet that 2 or 3 games into next season if we are struggling, the same people who are distraught at his departure, would be moaning that the club should have cashed Tim in when they had the chance!!

If he had have stayed until today then we would have been liable for his wages for another month. We needed him of the bill now.

| Now I'm thinking less emotionally I wonder whether he wanted to go or whether we just sold him and he went for what he could.

From what i've been told he was happy here and had no desire to leave but was willing to to help the club out. He has got a payrise to ease his pain though which i'm sure helped make the decision easier!

We took a punt on Tim as a gamble, the gamble has resurrected his career. He has given good service to the club and this move has allowed him to get some money for the club and come off the wage bill. Tim now has a chance to play in a team that maybe challenging for silverware before he hangs his boots up. Fair play to Tim and all the best. I for one will give him a clap and a cheer when he runs out against us next season.

You can if you both agree to terminate the contract.

| I know for a fact he didn't want to go. The money will help but the way Tims career has gone on and off the field, he is one player that I can safely say would happily stay somewhere he is happy and settled for a lot less money.
He wasnt given much option. We had the option of selling either Tim or DK and the club (rightly IMO) chose to lose Tim.

This.
Whenever I spoke to Tim he said he loved it here. I hope some fans dont give him stick when we play him, he deserves our respect and has done us many favours which includes leaving the club for more money.

| I'd expect it to be his yearly contract, multiplied by the years left on the said contract.
