| Quote: Eastern Wildcat "Hoping we're not looking at both Proctor & Taylor, one maybe, but not both. Both are quality.
Anthony Tupou was quality, but sadly was way passed it, and really struggled.
Neither would come cheap, and given we're on a tight budget, I think it would be a huge gamble.
Whitbread has been a perfect example if bringing someone in who have their best years ahead of them.
We already have Ashurst, Pitts, Battye and Bowden who will be 30+ come the end of next year, a very ageing pack, and we may have Eseh, O'Donovan, Shaw and Windrow, but honestly, how much exposure are they going to get in the first team next year'"
I don't see an issue or how it's any more of a gamble than any other relatively well known Aussie. Proctor is in a different class to all the players you mention, better IMO than Taylor. You need some big match experience and at present we have very little.
You don't have to have a player with the X factor but it can often make a huge difference.
Anthony Tupou was never on, his injuries were more akin to a road accident than a sports injury. The thing with Proctor is injury wise, and I don't want to jinx anyone, he's been pretty much bullet proof. Certainly nothing persistent.
So attitude is IMHO the only real issue and to me that's been somewhat overstated. Many on here were advocating Hardaker not long back, well Proctor is an absolute gent by comparison.

| Let's hope this is Chris McQeen esc. Needs to have the right attitude and buy into the club ethos. But as other have said on paper he's got all the experience in the world.

I saw Taylor play the Kiwis the other week and was the best player for Leeds by a country mile. His defence is another planet. I’d be thrilled if we signed Taylor.'"Quote: Pat Bateman "Quote: Pat Bateman "Hoping we're not looking at both Proctor & Taylor, one maybe, but not both. Both are quality.

All I'm saying is take one, if we do, not both.
If our cap spend is, like you mentioned the other day is around £1.3m, what portion of this would Proctor be on?
He wouldn't come cheap, and neither would Taylor

With you, then either would be fine, yes two may be a bit costly. Though TBF they are different kinds of players and would compliment each other.

No 100%, you did say both are quality. If we are pushing the boat out I’d love Taylor!

| If his attitude is right, Proctor is a good buy. There have been some questions marks about his off-field behaviour in recent years, but perhaps when you're at one club for a long time, one that perhaps doesn't demand high standards, mistakes happen. I'm not sure his on-field performance has dipped particlarly.

| The question is if we are signing Proctor then is he coming over to contribute and with the correct attitude or just the money. I wonder if the Titans were looking for a reason to end his contract because what he did is pretty minor compared to others. This then begs the question why but we will see.

That applies to every player,
It doesn't beg any questions really. At 34 he's got some SL left in him. In the NRL he's a drain on the cap. If we are lucky they might even be paying part of his wages.

I did mention it on the 26th July and started a thread. Not been on here of late due to certain clowns not liking what I've said. I'm sure those clowns will be back to slate me again.

If I recall the only clown was you, and you were rightly slated. You said you were out after Applegarth was appointed - so have you got over your sulk and are back in?

Not every player has been sacked by their club’s and not for what one would consider a minor offence. He will definitely not be a threat to our cap but could be a drain on our perceived limited budget.

He would, but that's a coaches call. Finite amount of cash means you have a finite number of options. Of the options available to us he's as good a call as many of the others mentioned on here.
Thus I agree that we have to be more prudent and risk averse than most, but likewise we occasionally have to take a flyer otherwise we will never move on.
