We have struggled 90% of the time we’ve spent in SL and our brand of rugby is unattractive.

Perhaps with some pressure off we can play more creative and attractive rugby but I do think remaining full time is the difference between coming back up or not relatively quickly.

It is not a pointless question because I believe you are all living in an alternative reality. I know why you have because you need the patronage, I don’t but having gone through the last period seeing our better players being snapped up due to the fact we didn’t have the funds. I don’t see this being any different this time so how do you believe we will be competitive and how many supporters during a time of tight finances will want to spend their money. When we are out of SL it won’t be a one season return without investment especially when we start paying the ground loan back.

What really annoys me is that we shouldn’t be in this position but if you ignore the signs over several seasons and continue to one plan the threat of relegation was inevitable once a reasonable team is promoted.

So what’s the answer then?

We haven’t a sugar daddy and not likely to get one.

We haven’t the funds to sustain a competitive SL team.

IF we stay up get ready for more of the same for next season.

I’ve supported Trinity since 1960 but for one reason or another didn’t go in the promotion season - typical after all the stuff I watched in the 1980’s although I watched for their results keenly.

Salford had a sugar daddy, Koukash, and got nowhere, they are doing better now and have reached 2 finals recently. According to Rowley, they have the lowest spend on the cap, but i don't know if that's true. How are Warrington and Hull getting on with their resources??! We finished 5th twice in 2017 & 2018 with basically players no-one else wanted, so 'success' can be achieved relatively speaking. Money is only part of it, Have it and waste it, then there's no point having it in the first place.

You are really taking your patronage quite seriously and backing the board. I note you didn’t say you enjoyed the seasons before 1998. I see the usual when you take over the club which was a £1 but is now £1m which I guess is inflation however who would want to invest in a club that is currently an embarrassment both on and off the field.

I would correct you again with your persistent misinformation that I do not have a season ticket, I may not use it but I do have one. I won’t expect an apology it’s not what you do unless you are told to do so by those that control you.

I asked what we did with the money saved when we stopped paying the rent upon purchasing the ground. It didn’t go on any ground improvements unless the cost of plastic chairs have increased. I was pointing out that we will have to start paying the ground loan back which will reduce the available funds on top of what we lose from Sky. It is not terribly difficult to understand if you really want to that not having funds now will be even worse next season if we are relegated.

The phrase “there are none so blind as those who will not see” appears rather apt for some on the forum.

Win or lose tonight that won't change the face that the club needs a complete rebuild from top to bottom. (Actually perhaps not all the way to the bottom as the Academy appears to be successful). We need a new board with actual ambition and who are prepared to speculate to accumulate. We need a new coach who actually knows how to coach a team and build an attaching structure not a glorified assistant who got a job because he is a good bloke and will have been cheap. We need a complete rebuild of the playing roster which has gradually got worse since circa 2018 due to poor recruitment.



The above all applies whatever division we end up in.

I am also interested to know where the Langi money went because he was clearly included in our playing budget before back tracking and staying at Catalans (I don't blame him by the way) If it turns out we spent it on the likes of Sid, Minns, Butler ET al then that is almost as criminal as spunking circa £200k per year on Gaskell and Lineham
