Ok SC, I bow you your greater knowledge.

| I seem to remember changing Leeds games to Friday only twice due to Challenge Cup matches.

A pal of mine who uses twitter said that we were considering Saturdays instead of Sundays for next season, is this right ?'"
I'll be very disappointed if they change from Sunday to Saturday. I have had a season ticket for both Trinity and Barnsley FC for many, many, years and don't want to be put in the position of deciding which match to attend. Why can't we stick to Sundays???

| I thought the professional game was moved away from Saturday's to allow the amateur game to flourish, has that been forgotten now and sod the community game

| Quote: bellycouldtackle "One of the problems RL has is that many consider GB£ 250 to be expensive. its for nothing, fantastic value for money, even if you have to go to Agbrigg / BV to watch games.
£ 50 for under 16 is a brilliant deal. Please dont give students any discount ẁhat so ever, bloody students. Service personnel, fire brigade, nursing staff and police should get discount. Junior Drs should be made to pay double, in fact they should be at work not watching Rugby, lazy as lazy can be.'"
So as an Army Veteran who is now studying at University to become a Nurse, should I have got a triple discount or none at all?!?

| I guess the pricing system for a club like ours is all about maximising income and can't really be used as a speculative/promotional tool as we depend on the season ticket sales to get us through the off-season.
However, I would like to see a rolling membership scheme introduced so that you could pay in monthly instalments.
e.g.
full season ticket £20 per month (£240 for 14/15 games)
half-season ticket £10 per month (includes 6 vouchers which can be exchanged for match-day tickets as and when required)
membership £5 per month (get a badge/card/newsletter and discounts etc.)
It's difficult to get things started as the club always needs money up front, but you could start payments in February 2017 for the 2018 season?

| Due to living about 40 miles away from BV and having work commitments I'd welcome the above idea for a half season voucher system where I could plan in and hopefully see about 6 X home games during the season.
I suppose though the financial benefit of bringing this in by the club is possibly outweighed by the administrative cost of running it...

| Quote: NEwildcat "At Home, 5 Sunday, 2 Thursday, 2 Friday, 1 Saturday, 1 Monday (Easter Monday). One of the Sunday games is Leeds at home, we always seem to change this to Friday.'"
So it looks like Carter's twitter and facebook poll which had a resounding preference for Saturdays (when playing on a Sunday was not feasible) drew little benefit for the majority of fans who voted for Saturday.

| Personally Asmadasa, I think the mini season ticket package is a good idea, not just for this, but also in trying to bring back stay away fans and introduce new ones. Other clubs do this, and manage to run it quite successfully.
It was one of several ideas I had for the club to generate more income, that I forwarded onto the club earlier in the year. Can't really see on this where administration costs would outweigh the income.
Another idea I had for generating season ticket sales, which would be a bit more time consuming, would be for when they sell a season ticket, to capture the supporters post code, and look to see if there are certain areas of the Wakefield area where there are lower numbers, and once they have established where it may be, look around the area to see if there are reasons why, ie WF10 for example which is a Castleford post code, and then go round the area where sales are down, and promote the club

I suspect, if you bother to look, that most games are timetabled logically for the benefit of the club / team and that the 1 Saturday game is there as a result of the poll. The club can only deal with the cards it is dealt!

Maybe the grown ups he talks to face to face outnumber the kids who use Twitter and Facebook and preferred Sundays?
Not fussed either way as I always plan my life round Trinity games. In the past this has included weddings, christenings, shift swaps, holidays and planned surgery/hospital treatment.

| Speaking to several people last night involved in local amateur game, not players but coaches and club officials, not a fair sample but all agreed on three interesting points : they would revert back to winter Rugby at the drop of a hat as it has proved almost impossible to get players to commit over the summer, some of the clubs now not running second teams,; Saturday should be left free from pro games , its hard enough getting players but then to have Wakey, Cas and Fev playing on a Saturday would make it impossible for them : They felt that in general they had better qualified coaches than the coaches running scholarship Under 15 , 16 and 19`s at SL clubs.

Agreed the club can only handle the cards it is dealt. It strikes me as a little bizarre that Carter goes to the effort of canvassing fans opinions and the overwhelming majority of opinion is for a Saturday. Yet there are so few games which could be influenced by this poll. If he goes to the effort of such a poll I would have thought that at the time it might be influencing maybe 3-4 matches, apparently not.
I begrudge the impact Sky has on fixture arrangements and I also begrudge the fact that so many away games are not on a Saturday or Sunday. I begrudge all this because I am willing to spend my £'s supporting Wakefield but can't due to factors beyond my and our club's control.
