In the Glover era 800 free tickets were dished out for every home game. You could walk through Ridings and get a couple of tickets - no problem. Of course this has stopped under MC and rightly so.
Attendance comparisions to Cas Tigers during the Millward era are similar but due to different causes. The Tigers supporters were wanting the coach out, simple as that, WTW problem stems from a large portion of support expecting to get in for free or for a tenner.
I said on this forum a couple of years ago what the end result of dishing out freebies like confetti would be. It was a gamble at the time that didn't work out. Blame AG - he made a real pigs ear of it and others are having to sort the mess out.

There seem to be more Cas fans on here than Trinity fans.
At least have the decency to come to the games and pay your way.

I like talking with Dave and a few of the others but Wheldon it isn't going to sit well if you start threads having a dig at Wakefield. At least when we do it we can assume the reason is that the poster wants to improve the situation rather than just wind people up.

If you want company while Cas forum is empty you are more than welcome and you seem like a good sort but you are going to have to respect the house if you want to stay.

Glover didn't make a mess of our support, other than grossly over stating the weekly attendance.
If you go the cheap ticket option, the key is to gradually increase the cost without affecting the numbers.
He nearly managed to do this but, ran out of brass in trying to do so.
If his pockets were deeper, he may well have managed to get numbers through the door paying full price but, we will never know.
Of course, it's far better to sell your "product" at full value, which is where we are now.
I've said before that ANYONE getting in for free are not supporting the club, they are stealing from it and its better to have 5-6000 fully paid up customers, that 8000 at half price.
At the moment we need the capacity of the ground to be increased before we can "sell" the games.

Regarding attendances, a decent product on the pitch, stability off it and WTRLFC would be amongst the top supported RL clubs. We have more potential as a club and a City than most clubs could dream of.

If losing two of twenty seven games is "in the poop" then we are in good company, ie. Catalans and Warrington. I wish we had won our first two games, but to say we're in the poop is somewhat premature or immature, probably both.

Not all 800 were dished out in the Ridings - that was an example of where you could get them from and I haven't made the figure up. Ask MC at the next supporters event or even better still ask DC on here - he will tell you.

Is this the same MC that said he was putting a stop to free tickets and fraudulent entry into the ground ?
It's amazing what 2 wins to start the season has done to Cas fans and the same club who some supporters were picking up cheap tickets into the ground on Sunday ?
