No idea what happened there  this site hasnt been the same in the last few weeks

but I saw your post agree about Doyle having to worry about him getting that shirt back from Smith. With Smith, because he is still so young you don't want to burn him out, but you want him to gain that first team experience. Like you say him having to defend against the big boys in the middle, although he's stood up well in defence when teams have gone after him. 

I tried to add an emoji in and it all messed up. This site just needs tolerating these days with how unreliable it is. 

Smith will benefit hugely this year from having plenty of games and then another pre season. Can’t wait to see how he develops.

I hope there?s work on going in the background for next season as the outside backs are the weak area of the squad unlike the pack. Need to let Walmsley go and get a decent centre in? I know we have hooker Tyson Smoothy coming but it?d be great to have a proven quality centre signing. Harper was class at Manly, then fell off the earth at Parra??. Didn?t even know he was at the Wahs and I follow the NRL fairly closely.

Tyson Smoothy on the the bench for Brisbane vs New Zealand Warriors today

How did he play?

Came off the bench to play 13. Didn?t notice him much other than a failed intercept which led to a Warriors try. Think it?s his first appearance of the season.

He?s not going to get a run at 9 this year and was used in the utility role.

He has added some weight again this offseason which I think reflects the fact he wasn?t going to get much of an opportunity at 9.


He was aggressive in contact caused a couple of knock ons due to heavy hits and carried the ball to the line tipping on to his edge players.


Went ok in the role he was asked to play. 

It’s been reported we have come close but unsuccessful in trying to get Matt Croker for next season. This would imply a few things about next years recruitment. We may well be looking at freeing up two quota spots not just one for Smoothy if we are still actively looking at NRL signings. We will be losing a forward from the current squad, Atoni or Faatili? And we are looking at big name/big money signings. Interesting times ahead…
