| Clearly Watson is a very good coach, and going back 2 or 3 years, players like Hastings, Bibby, Josh Jones, Dudson, Lussick went completely under the radar, no-one, and I mean no-one had them anywhere near getting to the G/F. 2017 & '18 was our chance at glory with similar players, Grix, BJB, Finn, England, Tupou, no-one else took a chance on those players, yet Chester got every ounce out of them every game, and it was a pleasure watching us play.....

CC was a good coach who made some excellent signings. He got it wrong the last few years but the club has been very open regarding the financial hole the game is in so he probably didn't have much to work with.
Yet somehow Salford far more than any other club seem able to spend way beyond their means. But then if you can't even be bothered to run an Academy then that partially explains it.
I have a real dislike for Salford these days, they offer the game absolutely nothing as far as I can tell.

Well look at all those ex Salford players I have mentioned, all now at bigger clubs, if transfer fees were involved maybe that explains it, look at the players for us I mentioned, probably none of them have been adequately replaced!

That's what I'm saying, they haven't been replaced because we have not got the cash.
I disagree with you in that Salford have. I don't think they have been smart with their finances, I think they are just living totally on the edge.
Every year I'm certain they will fold but they don't but it can't be long now.

That’s a different point than what was being raised… who knows the true finances of these clubs other than those that run them. Do they have any of their squad sat out injured for the season like Trinity?
I agree with others that there just isn’t enough SL standard players within its ageing pack.
Trinity have been found out and there will be a repeat of similar tactics used in the remaining games.

Just interested to see the changes you feel are required, not to judge or anything, more gor debate. I think most supporters are feeling pretty resigned now to another relegation fight and that if we stay up its because there are others who are worse than us. I hadhoped it would be different this year and up until the Salford second half it looked like it would. Since themn our form has fallen off the edge of a cliff.

Nooooo, Salford under Koukash tried to buy a team, Tim Smith, Chase etc, remember? They got nowhere, they got to 2 finals with the players I mentioned because of Watson mainly. A Few of our signings since 2019, Kopzcak, Brough, Atkins, Gigot....arguably bigger names then Finn, England, etc, did they cost more? I don't have the wage bill, but it's so easy to say yes we are unsuccessful because we have no money!!!
Warrington, last crowned league champions in 1955.....yes 1955, how much money do you think they have invested in trying to be the best?? A few names for you just in the last 25 -30 years......Bateman, Jonathan Davies, Allan Langer, Adrian Morley, Andrew Johns, Matt King, Chris Sandow, Greg Inglis, and so on and so on........the list is endless of successive failures.......

And don't pay full rent (if any at all) on their ground. Two nice pieces of cash available for 1st team wages.

I may be doing one of them a did service but, boy, we look like we may struggle to put a meaningful side on the park
And yet we only lost 24-22 to Catalans that day.
