That’s sad but it happens all the time. He’s young and he has the size so I’m sure he will get a place in the lower leagues. I point out the size bit because with SL clubs now looking more and more at non SL players he’s in with a chance of a recall at some point in the future if he keeps improving.
It’s up to him, he can either prove the club has made a monumental error or that they were sadly right in their assessment. Happens in all walks of life, it happened to me twice and both times it ended up being one of the best things that ever happened to me.
Best of luck if he does leave, I’ve enjoyed watching him.

Tough one, hope he goes on to success, but also hope Wakey haven't let one slip through the net again

| Must be a difficult time for any young man.
I hope he can be appreciated at a club and thrive to achieve his goals.
In all walks of life its sometimes best to step back and reavaluate you next move, but when it's forced on you it takes a negative aspect, its not.

| The versatility of our players has shone through for me this season, and not only filling gaps but also contributing significantly to our performance on the field ,and proving how indispensable these are when injuries hit with no perceived loss of performance .

Well, "leadership" and chezzy had been working together for a few years, I would be surprised if they couldn't say their relationship was quite a bit more than a purely commercial enterprise.
Through thick and thin, not burning any bridges, sweetening a bitter pill, golden handshake, however you want to justify it I don't begrudge that kind of termination tbh.
Better to part on good terms and all that.

I think he means in general not specifically Trinity or not in recent years.
All clubs let players slip through, Reece Lyne a perfect example, it happens.
However it doesn’t happen very often. I’m a huge fan of bringing young players through and have been genuinely upset in the past when we’ve let some go. Yet in all that time the grand total of those who proved the coaching staff wrong is from memory, zero. I can’t think of one player we let go who’s made there way back.
There are a few who made it after leaving us but all under unusual circumstances. Brough got himself sacked whilst players like Eden basically played the feel.
Sad though it is the coaching staff, whoever they are, rarely get it wrong with youngsters. My only gripe is some of the crud we have taken in from Oz who were no better but seemed to get treated with kid gloves, that has to stop and I think at Trinity it has.

| I agree with you. However the poster said 'slip through the net AGAIN?'
In the last 6/7 years I can only think of one player who has left us and gone on to better things - Paul macShane

Personally I wouldn't call Paul McShane move to Cas as slipping through the net.

Not really the same though. McShane is one that Leeds let slip through the net.
