It was the only decision that could be made. I've backed CC and the BOD over this for most of the time and though I did waver at points last year I never went all the way, the benefit of the doubt, etc.

However, the results over this season, especially those both before and since our false dawn against Hudds have been disappointing in the extreme. Again it's not the losses it's the manner of the losses. Far too many winnable games lost due to inexplicable collapses often after the HT team talk, poor signings, poor tactics, an overreliance on past it players, and the list goes on.

If we were just a poor team with poor players it wouldn't be so bad. But we are on paper at least a decent team with decent players. We certainly shouldn't have turned so many possible wins into defeats. If you take the last two seasons including Sunday the amount of HT leads (some big, some small) that we have lost is utterly unacceptable, Bad teams are bad for 80 minutes not just for the last 30.

Sunday finally got rid of any doubt anybody could seriously have had. The same dire second half, same panic, same lack of cohesion and resilience and to cap it all off a petulant interview from CC. At that moment his fate was sealed.

It is the correct decision but one I take no pleasure from.

Vastman, Poching was alegend at Wakefield the fans loved him and he loved the club Did not ask to leave Wakefield .Went because we were short of cash .The Wakefield fans still sang to him ( nice songs lol) when he was in the Leeds shirt .Think he was with T Smith most of is time as a Coach so he should have some idea how to play attacking foot ball some thing we have not seen for well over 2 years

No one deserves a comment like that under any circumstances.

And what if anything has that to do with him being the right person to coach us, your post makes no sense at all.

I was with a none rugby supporter who saw his interview after the game Sunday and they thought his whole demeanour was defeatist and to berate the team publicly showed a lot of insecurity.
I am sorry but he was given longer than any coach could expect in the business he is involved in and still we continued to slide. A possible problem could be that any new coach could be left with the signings selected by Chester.
The club have given themselves a chance and must ensure that whoever they bring in is the correct person for Wakefield and they do not waste this opportunity.

To put the record straight I never said anyone on this thread had abused him I said on social media. Maybe those responsible for those shameful comments should try saying it to his face.

Right decision all round, it will be a massive weight off his shoulders and he very looked a broken man throughout the past 2 years.

A new start for Trinity. It might revive our fortunes,it might not, but it's a positive move to force change and that's is what we've asked for

Surprised he's gone now, but it give Poching a window to showcase himself, but also allows prospective applicants to see how the team go and also hopefully a full off season to drag some improvement out of the team.

Interesting to see all the posts saying he should go and now he has, we wish him well and he has a future in RL………. I think a fair point to mention is it doesn’t matter who is coaching, you can only play with the cards you have been dealt. If we have the smallest budget then surely the rewards aren’t going to be the best. One question, who was the last coach to guide us to 2 top 5 finishes and a challenge cup semi final in their tenure??? I’m guessing not many, so as I’ve always stated, in my opinion, did a great job considering.

Maybe he's making the point that Willie played in a backs to the wall attitude team and if he can get that across to the players, the performances will improve.
I would say Willie is probably more passionate about the club than CC.
