| Quote: Scarlet Pimpernell "I think PT if you read the article he clearly equates his own contract uncertainty impacting on the loss of our star player. He then goes on to refer to his desire to play for his home town club.
I would say that I am not the supporter you have to convince of the benefits of retaining Chester because I have long realised he had overstayed his tenure.
I did regard the game against Castleford who were going through some problems as his first step to any form of redemption regrettably he failed. We now face a very much weakened Wigan team at home, I know we have our own absentees but this is a game we should clearly win. I suspect you would expect that to be the case especially with your faith in the coaching ability of Chester. We start on his road to redemption once again but is he up to job he believes it is so now is the time for starting to prove it don’t you think.'"
I didn't read it, I watched it. Probably why you have misinterpreted.

| First and foremost we need to sort out who’s coaching us next year, whether it’s Chester (probably by the looks of it). It’s been dragging on now abit. As in terms of recruitment Ashurst has been a great servant to our club, at 32 when the new contract starts indicates to me the lack of players we are able to attract to Replace aging players, same applies to Sidlow if we sign him. Chester mentions about sky money being up in the air regarding how much we’ll actually get distributed to us, which again sounds alarming as we obviously work to a budget and if it’s lower this time the quality of our recruitment will be effected.

Signings we are making will just be snother year of crap'"
Agree with this
A new coach could completely change things for us
Let Chester finish this year then move on, perfect timing for both parties to nicely part ways
Very frustrating as a fan

| I have no issue with Chester as a person. He seems a really genuine guy and obviously is very committed to the club. But, and this is a very big but, I honestly do not think anything is going to change while he is in that role. The style of play has not changed in the last 5 years even though it becomes less and less effective year on year, and is awful to watch.
Then there is the question of the effect on Chester himself. He has looked like a husk of a man recently. To continue in this status quo of skimming relegation will not do him or the club any good at all. Something HAS to change. Will Last and Poching bring enough assistance and be strong enough to change the entire ethos of the club and the way that we play? . I do not know, but if not then the best thing for all parties would be to thank each other for their efforts and try something new.

| Quote: Mary Millington "The only way Chester is going to get fans back on his side is that we sign 'better' quality players..........and is that going to happen?
Money apparently for Fifita and Williams (great PR trick by the way) but in reality linked with Gaskell, Sidlow and extension for a player who's body is bust (albeit been a great signing for us but enough is enough.)
We have Batchelor, Pitts, Crowther, Arona, Kelepi, Arundel who can all play back row....
Will be an interesting second half to 2021 (on and off the pitch!)'"
Offer on table to Adam Milner.. Wonder if thats to fill it at hooker or replace Joe.

I note you do not answer at what point do we become concerned or is your belief in Chester so complete you cannot see him failing. Would you continue to employ someone who have failed to produce what they are employed to do which also impacts the turnover or would you just carry on paying them until they decide when they have had enough even if it destroys your business.
If a sports club is to be a successful business the product on the pitch matters and currently this is all too infrequent.

| I think we'll beat this Wigan 'A' team tonight with something to spare. But even so for me it's time for a change. We need fresh ideas, a new impetus and importantly renewed hope for many of the fans who have slipped into it all being a little bit 'meh'. It's time for a change of direction in my opinion.

| Why the need to speak to Chester about a new contract, its not like there will be a queue of clubs beating a path to his door to employ him. Our directors have stuck by him despite the results, most would have sacked him during the 2019 season. So why on earth start talking now when we are in the midst of a relegation battle. Just let the season run, if say we manage another 6 wins then Chester may be able to suggest that he is worth keeping on. If we win less than 6 and do not get relegated then we just let the contract run out. The Nightmare is that the directors have already agreed a new contract for say 2 years, we win say 2 matches but somehow don't get relegated and we are left with Chester on a new contract. As I say it makes zero sense to be in discussions with Chester, there is simply no pressure to sign him, he will be there if directors still want him.

| A tricky one because there is an argument that he does okay.
At the start of his tenure, he did well. Recently, he hasn't.
On the other hand, he has brought the best out of Westerman, Reece Lynn has ended up in the England squad under his tenure, and the players seem to like him. Rocky has probably played his best rugby under Chester.
If there is any fault, it is perhaps too much dependency on players who were once good but not quite what they were as well as not getting an established spine. For me, I'd rather see a bit of a clear-out of the Dad's Army and see some young blood than chance our arm with a new coach. The squad would be the same. Would a new coach get more from what we have? Chester and some up and coming talent might be a better option. The alternatives to Chester are a new coach with what we have or a clear-out AND a new coach. I'm not sure either option is great. The former may be unwise and the latter is too big a gamble.

| I currently cannot attend games but does this performance suggest that Chester deserves a new contract at this stage of the season. I said this was a chance for redemption but despite the victory the performance still appears to be well below what a club requires to sell the product.
I presume PT will be able to enlighten me why I should have faith that Chester knows what he is doing.
