I have to say, crass as his post is, I kinda agree with Northern. With no crowd, I'm not sure home advantage is quite as significant.

Of course it would be sensible to call it the Leeds home game but it is what it is.

This should have been a Leeds home game. When they have an away fixture it should be held at Saints or whichever other stadium is deemed COVID safe. If it’s not a fair competition there shouldn’t be relegation this season.

Personally right or wrong I’m not going to let it become an excuse, I think we are out of those.

Also I’m not sure what home advantage there is without a crowd. It was the south stand mob that won Leeds all those off sides and forward passes not the pitch or stands. Without them to most players its now just a patch of grass and another changing room. Don’t think Leeds even train there not even in summer. If there is an advantage it’s far smaller than it would be under normal circumstances, as I say, no excuses.

Trinity playing a home game against Leeds at Headingley is ridiculous.
Not rocket science to class it as a Leeds home fixture surely?

It would be understandable if some games had already been played but, this is round 1

Lack of a home crowd does negate some of the advantage of being at home but, classing this game as the Trinity home fixture is just stupid.
There is a huge disadvantage for Trinity, playing in Leeds back yard and calling it a home game.
Surely, common sense would suggest swapping the home and away fixtures for Trinity and Leeds.

It may well be that the return game is played at a neutral venue and if so, I dont have a problem but..................

well we know that's not going to happen don't we as for a neutral venue for the return fixture we'd be put out again wouldn't we

Isn't it a loop fixture, in which case it's technically not our home game, maybe wrong? If not should be classed as our away fixture I agree.

Already this pre season Wigan Leeds and Huddersfield have closed training grounds due to COVID, even with infection rates dropping it going to be a problem all season. It’s a problem at SL but even more so Championship/League1.
