To counterpoint this; it is them who employed and continue to employ a coach who is taking the club backwards. It is them who sign off on all of the players we've signed.

Out of interest, who are the 8 players?

| Quote: Egg Banjo "We haven't had a side which is playing well in a couple of seasons now, just the odd lucky win. There's nothing to lose by removing the lazy senior players and replacing them with someone who might have a spark of desire to win about them.
Under the current coach, there's little to no chance of them seeing any progression, he's more interested in keeping his golfing buddies sweet than developing the squad'"
I still disagree.
Our backs 1 - 5 are ok (obviously, injuries to Johnstone and now Kershaw doesn't help).
However our problems yesterday stemmed from lack of ANY organisation from our 2 halves and an utterly inept pack, which left us forcing the play, with crazy offloads and having absolutely no clue with ball in hand in their half of the field.
I know that we have Batch and Crowther who can com in, plus Green and Arona but, if there is a young prop or halfback in the reserves/academy that is up to the task, I would be staggered.
Much as we would all love to have a couple of young kids coming through, I think that it's just wishful thinking to say "get the kids in".
Yes they would bring some enthusiasm but, yesterday needed our pack to match theirs and someone to deal with McIllorum, who was getting away with murder in the ruck and NOBODY did a damn thing about it.
The 20% win record says enough to know that there needs to be some change here.
Our halves weren't up to the job and the forwards didn't want to know.
Nobody has mentioned our kicking game which was bloody woeful, the worst for a long time.

| More what I'm trying to say is that I'd forgive losses on the scale we've seen if it was a very junior side which was playing. But it isn't, and while we have them, they're not being played. The coach is more interested in picking lazy players which are past their best than developing younger players in a safe league year (no chance of relegation).
I agree, our back 5 is probably the only saving grace of the entire team, but they're not getting the ball in attack, and are having to cover lazy forwards in defence, and as you say, the kicking game is woeful. We simply don't have one.

| I wonder if the powers that be saw these type of performances becoming the norm hence our desire to push for no relegation. I bet Featherstone are gutted they did not proceed with the cup match even without any pre game preparation.

| Did Chester really say in the post match interview that the game had gone after 25 minutes? Is it just me that's hearing it come across that way?
That's a proper Webster-esque statement, no wonder there's no drive or passion in the squad when the coach gives up on a game with 2/3rds left to play

Indeed it will.
If CC is to survive he needs to step back and find what he brought when he first started.
Like most coaches I suspect he can no longer see the grass for the trees. I don’t know why but coaches for some reason become obsessed with dogma rather than leading. For example I guarantee the CC will persist with Gigot no matter what, more interested in proving himself right rather than picking the players who deserve to be picked. He has time to rectify this but not much, he needs to re-adjust and step back no matter how counter intuitive that might seem. Hope he does as negativity of any kind ruins teams.
Of course it’s not just CC to blame but we all know he will get the blame regardless.

Yes I know...what a strange comment to make losing 24-0 and Tanginoa and Gigot both off with match ending injuries...
At that point I was scrambling to get on Betfair and back us to win in the in running market!

Agree
We couldn’t have a better CEO thank Michael Carter
Any one that thinks yesterday’s serving of tripe is anything to do with him is wrong
The club has never being run more professionally
He can not organise the team call the plays, make inspirational runs or off loads, tackle, score try’s and kick goals
That’s for the players to do
Regarding Chester
Maybe you are right, things have slowly gone down hill since Kear left us
Maybe that’s not a coincidence

Counter to that is that 99% of the players they sign have being excellent signings

Losing 2 players so early for the game, probably not?
We had a mountain to climb and I fully agree that at that point the game had gone.
Look, I’m not making excuses, it was an horrific performance...probably one of the worst I’ve seen from us for a long, long time...to put it into context, we lost 58-0 to a team making twice as many errors as us 24 to 12...when you lose by that score line in that manner to a team making 24 errors it says it all...
Prior to that though, it wasn’t a bad effort against Wigan and pre lockdown our previous two games were a golden point loss to Hull and an away win at Salford who seem to get better support on here than our own team for some reason, despite the fact we beat them?
We’re just making too many basic mistakes and have no leadership on the field...the vast majority on here couldn’t wait to get shut of Brough but he’s exactly the type of player we’re now missing...is Gigot the answer, I’m not sure?
What we need to do is get back to the basics and cut out the poor errors that are killing us. Go to back to playing with smiles on our faces...there is no relegation this season so that pressure is lifted but at times we look like a team with the weight of the world on our shoulders and play desperate stuff that doesn’t come off.
We need to start games stronger...when we complete sets at a high percentage and end sets well with decent kick chase, kick pressure we are a decent side and then the rest falls into place...when you complete high you will have spells on the front foot and that’s where you can give the ball some air and we can be very dangerous and a match for anyone when we do...
I don’t think a change in coach is needed just yet, just stop playing desperate stuff and go back to basics and the rest will fall into place. As much as I am pro Chester I don’t think he should be without criticism...Tanginoa is NOT a starting prop...get him on the bench and use him as an impact back rower ffs...and think his handling of Jowitt is nothing short of criminal...feel real sorry for the kid...don’t think I’ve ever known a player play well do many times then get dropped! Then he gets back in and makes an odd mistake or two and seems to be made a scapegoat...lads confidence must be all over the place...just give him a good run in the side!

| Quote: financialtimes "I stopped reading all that as soon as I got to the bit about Sezer being the major difference at Hudds, as he has done sweet fanny Adams IMO, Gaskell has been the better half and they missed him more yesterday then the 20mins they were without sezer.
People need to realise that this season is a write off in all sense of the word bar 4 or 5 clubs who have a chance, the rest are all bit players. Plus with all this BLM shizzle from last week and the fact there are currently 9 SL payers testing positive for C-19 then things really need to be put in to perspective.
Just watch the season out, none of us are any worse of than we were yesterday morning, there's more important things going on in the world and on our doorstep
Sezer is the single reason why shudds are performing so well
Sezer is also the reason why Gaskell is playing so well
Both have there parts to play and they are doing them perfectly
Very similar to when Finn and miller played together as a comparison as I see it
One half can’t do everything
A scrum half and a stand off are separate positions
Just because some one is a good stand off (which I believe miller is) doesn’t make him a good scrum half
And vice versa

| An absolute key point for me is fitness and size. In our forwards, Fifita, westerman and kopcjak are carrying various degrees of too much fat. Look at the physiques of Catalans cas and St Helens. Look at the 80 min high speed effort in the 4:15 game today. Fitness! And we have too many small players in our squad and our 17, all too often. It's a handicap before you start. We're always looking like we haven't any punch as a result
