Think that boats sailed at least for a while cosmic , he may not be the best in super league but neither is our team ,and as long as he/they give100% they’ll do for me.

The signing of Naverette takes me back to a time where our recruitment was not the best, it strikes me as a bit of a we will take what we can get panic buy.

I get that we have a few injuries in the front row and getting an extra body in could be needed at this stage but we still have a whole host of players that can play in the front row that are better than Naverette.

The improvement needed is in the halves, but it's probably the hardest position to get quality as good ones are rare and cost a fair chunk. We are short upfront so to give the halves we've got a fighting chance we need some grunt. Naverette reminds me of Simon, hot headed and error prone, but IIRC he has some size.

Thought Navarette had real good season last year. I think he'll be a good addition. Lively and gives 100% which will be great until it's coached out of him and he's asked to just plod the ball up the middle. A bit like we've nearly killed off Tanganoa.

I believe his expertise was knocking on, even more than Hirst did.

May be right about knock on’s but I’m sure he won’t get put on his as much and from the games I’m seen him in he can tackle ,so 2 out of 3 will do for me .

Agree with your first point and the second one to some extent too wwww

I think navarette would be a good edition to the team
Has some size him too which is key for us and in that position

Tanginoa is a back row all day long
We need him out wide hitting the line and slipping some passes to Reece
There is some great potential there to create some really special combinations between the two of them

If we play him up the middle like a battering ram it will be a total waste and likely result in him being injured

Agree about the temperament but Navarette is relatively small for a prop at 16 stone and 6 foot.....spent most of last season on loan at Catalan...he's also in the last year of his Wigan contract.

Why are we signing forwards say's a lot for the we gone out and signed a stronger squad for this season..We need a half who can get the team moving a lot faster..Know I will get shot down for this but think we need a good assistant Coach who can take the pressure of Chester .These injuries are happening to often for it to be down to bad look.

Are you looking at the same player? He hasn’t played at Catalan since 2017 and played 22 league games for Wigan last year.

For me he’s excellent in defence but offers very little going forward. We had that in England and Hirst, to sign Navarette would be a backwards step imo.

I confess to now knowing much about this player - which really makes me think - is he any better than the likes of Gwaze?

Did you see any Wigan games last season on sky? I would say he has far more experienced and match hardened than any young lad not just Gwaze.

I reserve the right to slag him off once he puts on a Wakey shirt though. icon_wink.gif

Think we need a reality check here.
We are not signing a superstar. We are signing someone to fill a gap left by injuries.
He doesn't need to be the best. He just needs to be good enough to play a decent standard of super league as our 4th choice prop. Anything else is a bonus.
