| When he's fit Lunt'is a good player but with him turning 33 in April and in the last 2 seasons he's played 13 games this year and 16 the last, it looks like farther time is catching up.

He will end up back home in cumbria ! Which has been a very good breeding place for hookers, we've had some good players from there in the past but dont think Lunt will be one of them.

Didn't help that he had sepsis!

I know, he got that in the last few games last season and it affected his preseason before he came back.
We may be interested, who know's, CC did sign him to a long term deal when he at Hull KR and always had good things to say about him.

Horrible illness to get & recover from. He went to Pinderfields and it was that bad they thought he had meningitis because it has the same signs (I had it as a teenager and it nearly finished me off), they then discovered it was an infected abscess on his spine that eventually poisoned his blood stream , ouch.

To play again after that takes some doing! Hats off to the lad.

| I think we need to wait until our squad is complete - we are still awaiting the "surprise signing"
BUT in saying that we at this stage we would be one of the favs for relegation injuries though will paly a big part .it always does when you are a poor club with not enough depth
I also think salford are going to have a hangover and might find them selves towards the bottom after losing Hastings that is going to be massive

I think we'll do better next year. We can't be as unlucky with injuries as we were this year and this year will probably act as a reminder that nothing is for certain.
But I think you're right about Salford. Even in his prime, Kevin Brown was no Jackson Hastings, and losing Josh Jones too will be a massive loss. They got lucky with no injuries too.
Rocky would probably be a good fit there. Dynamic, busy, and a good work ethic.

| Not worried yet we got some massive players to come back from injury just hope they come back the same players esp with how bad the ashurst tommy and tinny injuries where.be better when we announce some players to come in i reckon there will be tangata green woods and pits with maybe 1 or 2 more hope at least 1 of them will get us giddy.that not knocking the lads we are bringing in and sure they will do a job...as for salford they have been very lucky with injuries and that has played a majour part in there results they have managed to keep a steady 17 each week and not missed any key personal for a time add to this the loss of hastings and jones they wont be as good.looking at the season just gone the league as been affected by injuries in fact the best and over achieving teams have been the ones without injuries in saints salford and london have constantley been up v sides struggling with injuries....

FYI and FWIW It’s very difficult to spot, it’s also highly unpredictable. You can show early signs, then your own defences get on top and it goes only to regroup and come back in some cases.
It also works at different speeds on different people and being fit is not always an advantage.
Finally it’s a cover all term for blood poisoning rather than a specific bug. It can be almost any bacteria even very common ones if they overwhelm your bodies defences.
Antibiotics are very effective but need to be administered as soon as possible and in very large quantities.
Recovery depends totally on how far it got, apart from death worst case scenario is multi limb amputation!
It’s truly horrible and very common but luckily it gets caught in time most of the time. What makes it so frightening to me is that it can start from the tiniest of cuts making people believe it can’t be that bad when it is.
You probably know all this but some people don’t so I thought some clarity would help. I haven’t had it or know anyone who has touch wood, I just asked a friend of mine who’s a paramedic. HTH.
Clearly this is a very basic explanation and it’s a way more complex in reality but this is only a RL forum so please don’t shoot me down thanks.

I think I got to the bottom of the "Surprise Signing" we are all waiting for.
It started with Richard Shaw Wright tweeting that a player was joining Trinity that some people might be surprised by. I, and others have made the comment in both Northstanders and elsewhere that we are looking forward to the "Surprise Signing".
Anyway, I mentioned it the other day on Twitter and RSW told me he was actually talking about Paul Gallen playing for the PDRL side this weekend, and not a "surprise signing" for the first team!!!
So, my point, which is quite disappointing when you think about it, is that seemingly there is NO surprise signing, and the 5 mentioned by Chezzy and MC might be it....
(First post by the way...)

I had a feeling it was going to be something like that.
I'm still happy with what we have.
Welcome on board by the way.

| I think this is a new personal high for me. Disappointing someone in their very first post, with a tweet made by someone else, who was trying to be funny. Halcyon days

To be fair, I think the disappointment is with the person leading us astray rather than the club.
We may still be surprised either way.
