| He appeared quite interested when we played Hull KR. Why don’t we try Brough on the wing and Hampshire at scrum half and see how interested he looks.
I am sorry but Brough is 37 he is the past not the future. We will persist with him next season to justify his two year contract and allow Hampshire to leave. I would also point out that Escare will probably return to Wigan at the end of the season, I have not heard of any suggested signings that can fill the halves should they get injured.
We are certainly looking to make Brough feel at home with the signing of Atkins and Westerman. They are not quite as old and I think Atkins could make an impact but injuries and the recovery time will always be a problem at their ages.

Hampshire's body language to me looks like he doesn't want to be here. I wouldn't put him at 7 now. That ship has sailed.'"
It's all turned out a bit of a mess really. I really had hopes that Hampshire would be slotting into a HB role, but like you say that ship has seemingly sailed.
Instead of that he's been played as he had been at other clubs, IMO out of his natural position.
We'll just have to move on and hope that the HB's are truly sorted for next season, because even though I thought Broughie was doing OK earlier in the season I have to agree since his injury he doesn't quite seem the same, and next season...…?

I don't agree.
It's easy to look interested when the ball is in your hand with an open field in front of you.
Yet when he dropped the ball on his own line players went up make him feel better. Two plays later we tackled them hard and they dropped the ball. Every player ran in to congratulate the tackler but Hampshire who walked over slowly kicking stones. Didn't make it before play started again.
It's only a moment in the game and I may not be right but that's how I see him now.
Rightly or wrongly I don't see him as part of the team now.

Fliping Heck Poptart, you sometimes make sensible posts then more often than not come out with a right load of old rubbish.
We are talking about a young kid who we told we did not want and tried our best to ship out to shudds a couple of months back. Then no doubt he has heard Chester tell him he is no longer part of the team for next season along with a few others,
The you say rightly or wrongly you don't see him as part of the team!!! !
Well I say well done Rocky for sticking around and giving your all, because he has given much more than some of Chesters favourites who will be with us for next season

I'm not agreeing or disagreeing with how we got here, I just think he's fed up and playing like he's not part of the team.

| Getting to be a bit of a saga regarding Rocky. He was offered a contract, I understand, but as it wasn't signed it was withdrawn? It was then rumoured an offer was back on the table but silence followed. Then there was the Huddersfield rumour, I really don't know about Rocky losing interest but I am!
A shame really but it will soon be known one way or the other where his future lies.

Jack of all trades but master of none ? Very much the modern day utility player.
That isn't meant as an insult, I quite like him, he's dynamic, a poacher and can finish. I don't think he's a starting quality half though. Think he'd make a dangerous impact player off the bench. I expect he wouldn't like a bit part role though.

| Broughys is doing fine
It’s his jobs to call the plays and kick on the last
He’s doing ok with that
His goal kicking and his defence are excellent too
He’s not lost an ounce of aggression or determination
Is he the super star that he was under jk? No he isn’t but that was ten years ago
Is he being professional and doing the job to the best of his ability
Yes he absolutely is, no question
Brough and Miller are an excellent combination but theyve being playing behind a struggling pack
I think we saw on Sunday when the forwards go forward miller was buzzing about all over the place
The Wigan defence was really struggling to contain him
To me brough taking charge of one area allows miller to excel in another
It’s just being an awful year for the whole team
Next year we will be back up there I am sure

And then you woke up?
Meanwhile in the real world, Escare was buzzing.

| Really don't think Escare is all that, thought he had a howler on Sunday.
Back to Brough - he really isn't doing his job that effectively, kicking game is average at best, goal kicking not been great, and his distribution is pretty poor - majority of his passes seem to be too high/behind the man. He's not been awful but I think we all expected more, he looked good at the start of the season but since doing his thumb i think the Brough/Miller partnership has looked worse than the Hampshire/Miller partnership at the end of last year.
I would say it's too late to make a change though, 2 games remaining to save our super league status probably not the right time to be messing around with the half backs.

| Agree with Musson to a certain extent.Brough himself , I can assure people, is not satisfied with his form, but he does not deserve the amount of 'flak' aimed at him.

That's pretty much where I'm at. And it would be madness to change it now, with two games to go. That was probably what was needed a few weeks ago, with a new partnership having time to settle.
I'm sure Broughy isn't happy with his form, but that doesn't mean that it's okay. It's a shame, but he isn't the Danny Brough of a few years ago. It's hard to attack the line when in the opposition twenty if the passes to Miller or whoever are not accurate, because by the time he has recovered the defence are in his face. And his kicking game isn't good.
BUT, the spark is there, and there might be a good game still in him, and hopefully this Friday.
As for Escare, Sunday was a bad one at times, and perhaps that is why he doesn't get a gig at Wigan, his inconsistency, but he has added some zip since he came.
