| Quote: The Avenger "And you’re happy with that?
Injury can only mitigate the collapse of the team so far the rest is down to other things most notably the complete lack of evidence that we are coached.
Very poor core skills to begin with
Skills that fall apart once under pressure
Skills that look laughably amateur under fatigue and pressure
Poor conditioning
Paper thin team spirit
No attacking shape or combinations
Absolutely no idea how to defend
Every KPI is at unacceptable levels
We’ve won something like 1 of our last 13 matches but the performances in those games has been dire
If all of the above don’t suggest we need new eyes over the team, new ideas, new disciplines and a new voice in the ears of the players then what will.'"
Spot on mate but you will be called a back stabber for your trouble.

| It's too late in the day folks, we have to back them.
If we stay up, I'd like a complete overhaul of the backroom staff - they've been there for ages.
If we go down, well I think the club will fold.

I went over last night, I don't get to many away games 'cause of work, and I thought the effort and attitude were better, but the way we are playing generally is just depressing. A few weeks ago I would have given Chester longer, especially after the Hudds win, but he would have gone for me after the Wigan game, mainly to give someone else a fortnight to see what he had to work with
I thought the effort was there but to me it’s our style of play I said months ago when we played Widnes and even Hull kr that we play the same way against every team, through one half back at the left or the right and round the back to rocky or max it’s slow and predictable. Widnes London Hull kr have smaller packs than us so take them on with our big pack and run over them, we’re so easy to contain that’s why the entertainment has gone. Most coaches arnt stupid they do their research and plan against each team

I also don’t think it would be acceptable to bring say someone like Kear in it would just undermine him. If he shows his strength and makes some tough decisions in the next few week I feel we could be just ok

For mine overhauling the back room staff is necessary because they have been here too long and there is no sign of them developing. The conditioner, I believe is very much old school and the methods used do not imo translate to the way the game is now played and hence why again, IMO, we don’t look as equipped to play for 80 minutes as pretty much everyone else in the league.
We also need to start signing some younger players who are playing SL rugby on a regular basis to bring the average age of the squad down. The toll on some of the older players bodies from playing SL for years is a factor that affects us more than most.
With regards Chris Chester, if he is not willing to look at the back room and also his own deficiencies and accept he needs to re-jig things, then maybe he needs to go as well, because the performance levels have been poor since the Widnes game - we were told when we get players back, we will be ok, but the performance levels have dropped further,

Although you are absolutely right to say that the buck stops with Chester.
There is no shame in him seeking help to get Trinity out of a hole. It doesn't make him any less of a coach, it would purely be recognition that something has to change, which clearly it does.
Our structure, either with or without the ball has gone to pieces. Regardless of how good or bad our halves are, without willing runners, they cant do their job.
The whole squad needs to have a real look at themselves and take some responsibility, not easy when confidence is so far down the crapper but, unless there is a huge change in the next couple of weeks we will be gone from SL and possibly gone completely.
Its not a time where we should be too proud to ask for some help.
If things stay as they are, it will be all over, doing nothing isn't an option.

| Everytime Saints made a break there were three or four players up with him, When Fifita & Brough made a break they were on there own looking for support but we were back where play had started that comes in training. The trouble is now is it's too late to replace the coach but even worse, Somebody is willing to let us go down because they will not make a decision to what happens next

Felt sorry for Tanginoa on his debut at MM because at every opportunity he was looking to offload the ball and NO ONE was there. Don’t know why the likes of Wood or Hampshire aren’t backing up Fifita/Tanginoa/etc or being allowed to.

| Am hopeful we will survive this season ,but I’m afraid Chester’s coaching skill have come into the spotlight Through this rough patch .Nothing seems to have changed in our on field tactics even though we are on a miserable run ,think the guys ok when the goings good but not a clue how to get us out of this hole ,wether that’s players attitude or game plan .
Unfortunately RL throws these thing at you when least expected and it’s a measure of the coaches skills to get you back on the straight and narrow ,in this respect we are woefully underperforming both on and off the field , but hopefully get to sort this fiasco out next season in the top flight .

This just jumped out at me; contrast our predictable, easy to defend approach to every game, with London - everyone's pre-season whipping boys, who have turned up to every game with a plan, executed it well, with bags of individual and team spirit, and desire to win. As a result, they've picked up way more points than anyone expected them to, and played some really entertaining rugby.
It wouldn't surprise me at all if we end up in a faux million pound game with them at the end of the season - and I wouldn't be at all confident of a win.

Was it Phil Clarke or one of the lads on Sky who predicted that London would not win a game?

In fairness, they have stuffed us twice and weakened Saints sides twice, which NOBOY would have predicted pre season.
Danny Ward has done a tremendous job down there and he reminds me of Kear.
He has instilled great team spirit, a backs to the all/ everyone's against us attitude and almost to a man, managed to get his players at 8/10 every week.
They have the smallest squad in SL on the lowest budget (a mantle that used to be ours) and they certainly play as a team.
Yes, they get beaten regularly but, you know that they will be fighting like hell for a win EVERY week and they have some real pace in their backs, which has been our major undoing (twice).
London "should" have been easybeats but, credit to them and their coaching staff that they're still battling at the end of the season.
Let's just hope that they don't retain their SL spot at our expense.

| I'm not too disheartened by more recent results. When you looked at the team we put out at Wigan, and some of those will have been carrying some injuries, the score was pretty much what would have been anticipated. Similarly, against Saints.
Chester has surely gained enough brownie points for one bad season. But when we compare to previous seasons, there are some obvious differences:
1. Attack - Danny Brough. He wasn't there before. Now he is. We're not as good.
2. Defence - we've no assistant coach. Before, we had one focusing on defence (Kear) and now we don't, and we're not as good.
3. Fitness - what has put as at risk this year has been London's unexpected success, and what stands out is their fitness. They just don't go away. If you can't be the best, be the fittest, and then you have a fighting chance. Us? Too many fat blokes or old and broken blokes.

Rather than fitness, I think you should have put "old".
Most of our pack are in the twilight of their careers and with the reduction on interchanges, I think this stands out dramatically, especially when you factor in injuries, where we are having to rush players back and in Fifita's case, playing busted
