Six months off? Pretty sure the majority of the squad are back in for pre season mid November.

| Assuming right up until we crashed out of the cup against Saints then surely no one would have been allowed to book a holiday for this time? Given the boat we were in at the time and continue to be in I think its poor. It doesn't look good in the current situation.

| I'm happy for them to have a break.
We need to be playing stress free and we are clearly playing like we are frightened to really go for it.
A couple of days then back to training as a team and I think it will help a lot. Still need some hard decisions to be made when everyone returns.

Exactly right, especially if the break is given as a concession.
With the players that we have available, Trinity ARE capable of getting the couple of wins that will secure our SL survival.
However, someone does need to convince them that they CAN do it.
Some additional help for Chester would be most welcome

I'm not being funny, but we are talking about a group/squad of players, who by hook or by crook had managed to get to 3rd in the league by mid to late May, now just over 2 months later they need someone to convince them they can stay up?!! Something has gone drastically wrong somewhere.......

| We just need a victory and quickly, the confidence is clearly rock bottom as it would be after so many losses. The quicker that victory the better

| We complain about too much rugby being played, so when the opportunity comes to get the players recharged and refocused for the final push, we want them beasted to death on the training paddock.

| After the defeat at Wigan the players were given 5 days off to recharge their batteries, on returning after the break the players and the coaching staff have 15 days to prepare for the next game at St Helens. I would imagine Chris Chester and his coaching staff would have used the players 5 day break to get their heads together to find a solution to fix the problem we find ourselves in, but if all the coaching staff decided to take a break too then I think the club is being badly mismanaged. We will find out the answer a week on Friday as to just what, if any work or coaching has been drilled into the player as we try to seek the points we need for survival.

| There must be a worry regarding the back room staff, a well worn topic, other clubs seem fitter and maybe our rehab is not the best with people coming back when not ready. Obviously heart and commitment are one thing but our fade from 3rd is mental. London look light years ahead on fitness as an example.

| I too was a little surprised that they had been given time off, but having spoken to an ex player he told me that it can be a good idea and that getting them in every day knocking seven bells out of the tackle bags can be counter productive and increase any malaise that there may be. Giving them six days off allows them to refresh mentally as well as physically and hopefully comeback ready and up for the fight. Flogging them day in day out at training may not necessarily be the best. I hope he's right, time will tell.

This is it for me...if they turn up at Saints and put in a similar "non-performance" like they did at Wigan, then it clearly hasn't worked.
If, however, they put in a similar performance to what they did at BV against Saints at the start of the season, then although we might not win, it will be all about the performance and at least we SHOULD have a platform to build on for the last few games of the season

Wise words Cats13. I'm completely with you on that.

| We all want the players mentally and physically fit and healthy. Maybe there has been a problem in these areas unaddressed for far too long.

What I suggest the whole team including the coaching staff do is, watch this morning's game between Melbourne and Manly. That is what you get, especially defensively, when you have 2 fully committed teams, who are well coached, and each individual knows their roles within the framework of a team. Yes as individuals some of them may have more ability, but it's not all about that. That game should be a blueprint to which all RL teams aspire......and it probably won't be the best game of the season down there!!
