| Walked out of game ten minutes left , pretty gutted my wife came to her second game in ten years - said could we come back to visit Carcassonne preferably when there wasn’t a game to ruin the weekend.
Now I ve calmed down a bit think some of the talk is pretty harsh - conditions were crazy hot - whilst it’s same for both teams catalan live and train in it full time .
We were poor but realistically we lacked a complete back row , 2 front rows in England and huby that would have played , our left centres had one game in the last two months , brough clearly isn’t 100 percent and to all intents we were playing with 16 men . Catalan had pretty much a first choice team out with several key players been rested - it was always going to end badly .
Tbh season is finished now only excitement may be playing London to stay up -

| But that's the wakefield way. Not sure we have anything to offer for the rest of the season and unfortunately that will be reflected in attendances.
Any other club would be looking at taking action ensuring that that sort of display does not happen again but at Wakey we may get a slight improvement but nothing will change . Wakefield seems to be a comfort blanket for some of the squad and without changes it aint going to change. The club have managed to put the squad together for the next couple of seasons but with the present squad playing like they are a couple of additions will not make that much difference.

Not sure what temp was like when hull played them a few weeks ago, but they managed ok. Do les cats win all their home matches in July or August cos they're acclimatise? No. This is totally down to the players attitudes and mindset.

I was pretty unhappy but genuinely don’t think the whole team has a bad attitude and want sacking !
Fafita gave it a good go and stayed on when clearly he was injured - brough hasn’t been right since he broke his thumb and again carrying an injury, gwaze is a kid ,
Hampshire thought tried and was pick of backs ,
But if as Chester says brough and fafita don’t make it Friday , can’t see Reynolds and England improving us much
Lose that and we’d better start focusing on London game

For years now I have been critical of our edge defence. For me it seemed to start with Ben Cockayne when he started cutting-in to try and make a 2 man tackle on the opposition centre, which invariably left a walk-in try for his opposite winger and for whatever reason this has continued at Trinity ever since. You don't see this happening in the NRL week-on-week so why do we persist in doing it over here ???
It clearly is a coaching thing, otherwise we wouldn't do it ??
Every single week we get out-flanked and concede tries, so it clearly doesn't work, so why not leave the wingers out on the wing to cover the opposition winger (who, 9 times out of 10 gets the ball and scores anyway) and let the sliding defence cover the players inside ???
It sounds so simple, I know, but surely it has to be worth a try and not give walk-in tries away every week ???

As a point of note England was in the squad, it was our choice not to select him.

| I’m not sure about the idea that players aren’t committed, lack passion, can’t be d. In my (very limited) playing experience, going in to a game with anything less than 100% commitment is a sure fire way to get injured. I like Chester very much and he’s not responsible for SL players being unable to pass or hold on to the ball. But he is responsible for the team’s basic lack of SL level skills - movement of the ball is slow, passes are transmitted, forwards take the ball standing still, tackling is abysmal, control of the ruck is poor, game management is poor, the defensive line is compressed and very rarely moves up at the ptb to cut down time and space, there’s no obvious game plan and equally nobody with any creative nous. He needs to address these issues and then we can see which players are taking the pi55. At the moment it’s hard for players to shine when the whole team coordination is a shambles. It’s down to CC.

He was plenty fit enough to play longer minutes than either Gwaze or Hirst did. It was a selection choice. Chesters use of his subs in that heat wasn’t the best.

| after a performance like that how can you say your not sure players are not committed. I saw nothing from the vast majority to even come near to commitment. We have nothing to offer at the moment and most other clubs would be making major changes and insisting on a vast improvement. its so disheartening watching a performance like that and the travelling many will reduce in numbers the next time around. It used to be bad enough traveling back over the Pennines after a rank performance but I can only imagine what its like traveling home from France.

Maybe it’s the back room team we have - we have probably spent less in that area so we can spend more on players but not sure it has worked. When Chester had an experienced man alongside him (kear and then Monaghan) we did look much more organised both defensively and in attack.
The injuries won’t have helped this season, but maybe the back room needs an overhaul including the conditioning department

| Well what ever the reason the club need to put things right asap. I don't see that squad providing an up turn required to pull results out of the bag. I think we must be the easiest team to get a win from at the moment and with very little to offer in attack the chances of out scoring a team are remote. The players have to be made responsible and MUST commit probably a solid defensive performance may go a way to returning some confidence.

The only saving grace is, even though London and HKR have improved, it's a tough ask for them to win 3, which is with us not winning. I just want to see us scrap and fight and defend like our lives depend on it against Cas, just like Leeds did. If we lose because they are better fair enough, but not because they simply wanted it more.

| My point is that they can scrap and fight individually as much and as hard as they want but that won't be enough if they aren't organised and doing the basics well, as a team and with a plan. That's back to the coach.
