| The favour was GRix who never played a game for us but wasn't expected to by either party I'll bet. Wire needed the cap space to bring in Chris Sandow.
Ben Harrison was a full, above board loanee who played a few "poor" games for us.

Tbh I’ve heard neither, can’t understand why Warrington would want to get rid of a known quantity.

| Because they can afford a younger version.
I like him but Warrington will want the best in the league and he isn't it now.

There’s a lot to be said for reliable. I’d like to
Know who this cap busting player who will turn them around is.
For me Warrington have flattered to deceive as has been shown with two recent defeats. A few injuries and they may regret losing a known quantity.
Also can they afford it? If they could they wouldn’t have to ship Atkins out, just a thought.

You would think that Warrington would to be close to the cap although not short of money. Therefore, IF they want to bring someone in then, they may have to ship someone the other way first, even if this meant somehow still paying for the outgoing player.
I never quite understood how this worked on the cap but, it seems that a club can "break the cap" as long as one or more of their players is no longer playing for them..

I expect it's done by proxy - i.e a sponsor or some linked company making a donation to WT that by coincidence, exactly matches the salary for the incoming player; and as if by magic, Wire suddenly have room on the cap, and because we already did, we don't go over ours.

| I thought Luther Burrell was cap exempt when he came in as he's a union transfer or is only part of the salary that counts? They must be on and around the limit so maybe have to ship a big name out to be compliant.

| Always liked Ryan Atkins. Very good and honest player and came across as a really nice guy as well. With the amount and severity of injuries we have and still a lot of the season left to play he would be a great addition for us.
No idea if it will happen but i for one would be very happy to see him back in RWB.

Agree with that, remember him giving up his time to hand out awards at a local sports club and enjoying the occasion. I think he also signed a long contract with us so that the club got some benefit from any move as well. For a short time him and Luke George (what happened to him?) were a pretty potent combination.

Luke George got pretty capable just in time to go back to Shudds. We did manage to get the best Widow Ty performance out of him though before he left.

Luke George moved to Australia and played for Northern Pride in Cairns when JD was coach. He worked as a personal trainer and last I'd seen he was playing for Central Queensland Capras in Rockhampton.

| If you sign Atkins then you'll have to get some ball boys outside of the stadium to pick up his wayward try scoring passes that he sends over the roof

| Interesting, wires post board have Ryan looking for a/at houses in yorkshire, has made no secret of retiring at the end of this season ! Short term playing time this season. They say he has been excellent except his brain farts & way wood passing.
Passing was never his best side of his play but he is a strong player !
