What does that nonsense even mean?
How do you know the club have lost the faith of the public? Very interested to know how you have measured this.

| Quote: dboy "No, we really don't!
Like any fan, I'd like to know what's going on, get some reassurance and be able to have some confidence going forward.
However, the only thing that matters now, is that legally we have the high ground and nothing should be done to undermine that. Our cards need to stay firmly face down, until the hand needs to be played.
It feels like everyone's chips are going in...'"
I appreciate what you are saying but I can't see this going any further than thrashing it out between all parties, the club can't afford to take things fully legal and I doubt they will waste the money doing so.Nothing is ever documented and the council haven't produced one single piece of paper. What have they actually done wrong which is documented in writing? yes the white box should count towards the trigger point but it's pretty much impossible to prove this is an inside job to not form part of the sq.ft. These are clever people and I appreciate we are chasing what was first promised from the outset however the only way to move forward is come to some sort of middle ground.

Read any of the social media posts by either the council or local news on this subject, it can easily be broken down into Trinity supporters and everyone else, the everyone else contingent are pretty much all against the club and see it as greedy or wanting something for nothing following the last two council press releases. These people who pay rates but have no interest in rugby are largely against the development of the stadium as the council have made it seem like we're demanding rate payers subsidise a private company

| Social media is only representative of the people who use it and who can be bothered to interact.
Carter, Box, Hussein are not playing this game on social media - some parties are clearly trying to use it for spin, but it changes nothing.
I also doubt the end game will be a court visit, but if it is, the courts couldn't care less about the weight of posts one way or the other.
I believe we are right morally and right in the eyes of the law, though the only guaranteed winners there are the lawyers.

| What a bizarre statement and turn of events. I too saw a community stadium for the district and straight away thought of Cas, but 88m involvement suggests otherwise.
I have to laugh at the council throwing the dummy out over the lack of apprent funding from the club towards the stadium then invite all interested sports clubs to come to the table. Who exactly are they expecting to turn up? Manchester United?! Who on earth other than Trinity would be in a position to pay a commercial rent? Wakefield FC?! Thornes Juniors?!
All i can see is a load of guff from a very worried local authority who seem to be shooting from the hip.

| Fair point about people believing what is said in the media . A friend to day said your chairman wants a stadium but not willing to pay a penny towards it .he said that's the way it coming across in the media . The sooner Wakefield make a statement the better

| This is no criticism of MC and the trust, but..... Just put yourself in the position of Joe Public, you know practically nothing of the real story because the Wakey express have seriously kept their nose out of this till recent weeks. You don't read the forums, facebook or Twitter, WMDC have put out their last two pieces of propaganda with no reply from our Trust or Trinity, hand on heart, what would you think?

| I'd be thinking why on earth would a council be willing to build a stadium but have no idea who is going to play in it. I'd be thinking aside from the only professional sports team in the city, who can ultimately make it viable.
Oh and there are plenty of people who have no interest in RL whatsoever but are aware of how much of a snake Box is.

Ah yes, Rodney "Trojan Horse" Walker I presume?
I've heard him called quite a few things on here, but a huge hollow wooden equine - how apt.

| I have read all these posts. Some of you seem to know a lot. some more than you are willing to let on. I know nothing but what I have read on here. I believe Michael Carter is an honest player. I don't believe Wakefield Council are honest or trying t help it's hometown club prosper. It saddens me so much. It beggars belief, the games that are being played. If I am truly honest, much as I have loved Wakefield Trinity all my life and Rugby League generally, this is all depressing. I have no control or say in it and part of me just wants to walk away. This is probably what the Council wants but honestly..face facts, this is all going nowhere.Someone somewhere wants the end of Wakefield Trinity, at least as a top flight club and there looks like a conspiracy is occurring to make that happen. I am sick of it all. I feel for Michael Carter and the club, who have done all they can but this is so indicative of the corrupt world we live in...and this a LABOUR council. Don't forget, the Socialists among you who support us, which party is shafting us

| It seems to me that the council and developer are making very detailed plans for a community stadium but are not engaging the charitable trust which has been set up to run the community stadium and associated facilities. If there is a press release about operational funding (Opex) then surely they are the interested and accountable party.
No one but the developer ( and I specifically call out YorkCourt) are accountable for the capital expenditures (build costs) the condition of the Secretary of states ruling was that this should be fully covered by the developer (with a small contribution from council) in exchange for the reallocation of green belt land, and that land be made available for commercial development.
The owners of Trinity were prepared to buy Belle Vue built were advised not to as the council had the new stadium situation under control...
I will keep stating these facts until I die doing so!
Is there a body that one can raise concerns about possible government corruption... ???

Peter Box is no more a Socialist than Margaret Thatcher and Tony Blair were Socialists, charlie. The Labour members on Wakefield Council have NO connection with true Socialism whatsoever; they have only SELF interest in mind and what they can screw out of the citizens of Wakefield. I have never known a worse Council for taking as much as they can, and giving as little. A town of similar size to Wakefield and only nine miles away have just made an international name for themselves by promoting a world darts championship with extensive tv coverage. Promoting any sport in the City of Wakefield is NOT on the agenda of this Council.
