| The big gap is our kicking game - it's dire; I'm not sure how to fix that, but if Finn is to retire, his replacement should have one.

How to you take a competitive squad and make it better..
In forty years of being a Trinity fan I don't think I've ever considered this question before!!
I don't think I know how!
And that's why I asked the initial question, it's hard isn't it.

| I don't understand why more teams don't try the 40-20 more often, especially now it restarts with a tap as well.
I know we are a bit lacking in terms of kicking options but again if someone with a strong kicking game was brought in I'd like to see that more often.

| This squad is very close I would say we could have had 12 more points this season but just lacking that bid of class at 9 and 7
Finn is a great man to have on the bench Wood is a useful utility
Put a Gale Houghton/Lunt in this team and things change

I also am happy with Hirst. He looks a bit lolloping but he's a very big bloke and he attracts a lot of tacklers in. Yes I recall the odd mistake but no more than some others. I love Fifita but he's made the odd blooper this year. I can't think of any player I would want to lose from this squad, only add one or two if we can. Certainly our kicking game is a bit indifferent. But I think Finn is absolutely pivotal to why we have done so well, so I think the tactical kicks need to come from the other half back as I would not want to lose Finn

Hull at Home
Huddersfield Away
Wigan at Home
Warrington Away
Leeds at Home
Cas at Home
All games where with a bit more nous we could have (and probably should have) won. It's all ifs and buts however if we'd won all those games we would now be top of the table. That is a remarkable turn around for this club in such a short time and as Cas have proved, the more often you can win, the easier it becomes to build off the back of that.
I'm chuffed with where we have got to so far this season, if we can end the season in 6th or above that is another massive step forwards and puts us in a good position to improve again next year. Just need Rodders to put his money where his mouth is then and the future is very bright.

| I would like to see us sign up the following from our current squad
Keegan Hirst - extend one more year.
Jordan Crowther- longer term deal
Dean Hadley- I think it looks like Hull dont want him, so would certainly try to recruit him.
Chris Annakin- extend one or two more years
Max Jowitt- not sure on his contract length, but i'd certainly look at having him tied up with us for the next 3-4 seasons like Tom and Batch are.
Release
Mikey Sio- I think we have moved on from Sio. Did well when he joined but has not progressed as the club has. Also not worth a quota spot.
Jonny Molloy - If he hasnt already left, I would certainly release. I would rather a local potential has his squad place, such as crowther/ batchelor
Walker- I liked him and would sign him again, he always does fairly well when he plays, but the coaching staff obviously dont appear to rate him so I would release. However I'd be happy if he stayed.
Mazive/ Moules/ Morris - haven't been anywhere near first team currently. Probably release and give some new ones a chance if the judgement is there that they wont make it.
I would like to see us bring in a quality 9, a quality halfback if Williams is to leave, and a big go forward prop in the mould of fifita or huby. In terms of 'projects' I wonder if Kear has anyone else from the championship who is worth a go?

| Happy to have Randell in. Wood and him hooking immense. A replacement for Williams. A dangerous 2nd row and maybe a centre that can pass crisp to the best wingmen in the league. So I'd say 3. FB a tricky one not sure about Grix for another year. Not sure if he's good enough. If wait to see who gets relegated.
Agree with the guys released in previous post crowther doesn't look like he will ever reach standard unfortunately. Would defo sign Annakin up don't no what the delay is tbh.

| Not sure if Grix is good enough?
He's been by far our best player at times and always a key leader of our team.

| My gast is well and truly flabbered that anyone who watches RL could say out loud that Grix might not be good enough; he's been our standout player this season and has made a huge difference in both attack and defence - singing him was a masterstroke!

| I certainly havent doubted his ability, or Liam Finns for that matter.
My point was that come the end of next season they will both be 34, and you have to ask the question at that age are they good to go round again.
Max Jowitt is more than capable, but theres nothing wrong in having cover. If these were to retire, do you bring in a full back and a half back, or do you bring in someone who can play both equally well.
A lot of sides out there have full backs that have spent time in the halves, and vice versa

Grix will be the first choice full back next year with Jowitt playing more games than he has during this season.
2019 is anyone's guess but if Grix has started to fade then it'll be Jowitt as first choice with Hooley as back up.
