But fifita making the unnecessary error cost us that game. 100%. A calm controlled set of six and a kick would have seem us home.'"
But if Johnstone had scored that sitter - we'd have won; if Jowitt had made that tackle - we'd have won; if my Aunty had balls she'd be my Uncle.
Once incident without acknowledging the wider context of the entire game is not the way to assess performance in a team sport; I'm sure Chester didn't sit the lads down and lead a discussion on why it was Fifita's fault that we lost the game - and neither should we.
Has anyone seen the league table and compared that to where we predicted to be at this stage of the season?

| It's a bit like debating the number of angels that can fit on a pin head BUT..... the incidents with Jowitt and Johnson happened earlier in the game and it's impossible to know what the final result would have been if they hadn't happened. With Fifita, we were in control, there were three minutes left on the clock Fifita, the team, should have managed the situation better. I'm not bagging Fifita at all its more that I'm criticising the lack of on field leadership and game management that's caused us to lose games we could have won.

But those incident you quote didn't lead directly to the opposition going straight down the other end and scoring the winner.
The team performance in the wider context was pretty good. One error has undone it all. Again. Remember Wigan last season?

| On a slightly related note;
As were just passing the half way mark of the regular season, Wakefield are at the bottom of the list for errors. Every other club has made more errors than us after 11 games. That's a massive improvement on previous years where we would be towards the top of the error count. obviously some errors can be more costly than others, but the fact that we've made less errors shows the improved standard of rugby we're playing

But the incidents he mentioned clearly did have just as much of en effect on the game. If Johnstone scores that try in the first half, we're potentially two scores in front in the last minute. Trying to pin it all on one player just shows a severe lack of understanding.

| I bet I know who full back will be on Sunday and I think a leg end will be disappointed.

Nobody's tried to pin it all on one player.

| Not disappointed (but if it's the fullback that missed the one on one tackle against the Wigan fullback, when Wigan scored with 12 men ) hope he keeps out of the half backs way and let them do their job. Thought the halfs played well against the wires especially Miller.

| We have lost 3 in a row but still find ourselves only 6 points off top.
Nobody has mentioned that Cas only beat us, there doesn't seem to be a panic about that.
What's letting us down is within our control, it's not as though we've been pumped off the park and there's no light at the end of the tunnel.
Pop Tart summed it up, 'expectations', they've risen massively and if we had gone to Wire this time last season with Arundel, Tupou, Lyne and Allgood missing, people would have been happy if Wire only scored 30 and we gave a 'good performance'.

| Moaning?? Well, I can do my own fair share. However, I try to make it relate to things we consistently keep doing and not apparently rectifying or even recognising. Pluses lately; we are undoubtedly a much better side with a lot of excitinfg players and match winners. I can at least turn up with an expectation of something competitive and exciting to watch; too blummin exciting as every game bar one or two has gone to the wire (no pun intended)! Negative...keeping on with the match costing daftness in the errors and pens. True coach and fan killers. I just wish the lads could sit down, look at the videos and get the damn message imprinted on the memory so the bell in the head goes off when they are fatigued and the critical moment comes!

| Wire fan here, FWIW I thought you played well enough particularly Miller. Your 'error' was as bad as we played, or were allowed to play, was that we were down but still in it half time.
Good luck for the rest of the season

I agree in terms of where our area for improvement is.
The question is whether you work on cutting the errors in fatigued situations or whether you try to not get in to the fatigued situations.
Clearly some of both is needed, but equally they are self creating.
The more mistakes you make, the more fatigued you are tackling more than your share, the more fatigued the more mistakes.
That for me is why it seems to be perfect or really bad.
For what it is worth I think this season shows we have improved massively in both. The very fact we are frustrated at losing close games shows we are now close enough for those mistakes to matter. In previous seasons we were already out of site of the other team when we made mistakes.
I'm enjoying this season.

| What gets me about some of the moaners, is that they must be great players coaches etc themselves, but yet some of them have never laced a pair of boots up in their lives and put themselves on a pitch.
Some of the anti union stuff is laughable too.
Personally I can vouch for the fact I have played both codes

| I actually think the error was made by CC by bringing off Finn with 7 minutes to go. He's the game manager we needed. However it's done and dusted and we now need to roll the Catalans over and get on another 5 game winning run

Doesn't matter whether you've played the game or not.
I know plenty of players who can't talk intelligently about the game.
I've no problem with people having a different opinion to me. In fact I welcome it as it's the only way to learn.
What I don't like is those that don't say anything when things are going well but jump on every issue when it goes wrong and spout that they knew it would happen etc.
Just support the team.
