Top six 2005 - Trinity.: |
|
| Although I have been no lover of box due to this.
IF the efforts of the council lead to the stadium being built and the trigger point being reached then some of that may very well be down to him following up on this, albeit a bit late.
If his actions for now are to progress this and he does that for the benefit of Wakefield and Trinity then I will see him in a much better light and be thankful for the efforts.
Positive news it seems.

| Sorry to be a little negative but one issue still remains - York Court have to find the 9 million to build it, have they got that kind of money?

| So the original development of 22k has been included in the 60? What about the current extension in progress will this 22k count towards it also?
Inflatable Armadillo can you clarify as you were discussing this a week back on Facebook?

IA is on holiday but the extension should also count towards the trigger.

| So, do WT have to find £2M that was mentioned in last weeks council reply, or when the time comes will WMDC gift us £2M as intimated? If so I could see Cas and Fev getting into Box's ribs in the near future.

If this all turns out and as someone says above, a certain company doesn't go belly up,we might only need one more good sized development to take us to the trigger point.

| The attitude of the council APPEARED to take a positive turn today. That attitude to the situation should have been there all along from the beginning.
Nevertheless it is still a change in stance and they should be given a chance to deliver. However in my opinion they should also be working against the clock and if things start to drift, they should be put under even greater pressure.

| I suspect their attitude only changed, and the sudden U-turn to include Newcold in the build threshold, was down to the fact court action loomed and they knew they had a weak a case against us. Progress is definitely good, but lets not pretend this didn't happen on the back of calling Box/Council out on their crap.

| I really do hate being negative after what appears good news, but doesn't it all seem a bit convenient, why has this all come to fruition after a week of negative press? As someone else has alluded to, what pressure can be brought to Yorkcourt if they decided to walk away or go bust on 59,000sqM?

| Sound like progress but actions speak louder than words. Problem is what are we going to do next season ?
Think we need a another year at belle vue then in the stadium for 2019.

| Agreed ^
I don't care if Box takes all the credit as long as the thing gets built in a timely fashion.
All the spin on Earth won't change what I think about him, so he can have his public relations exercise, its not important.
I assume the trigger point is at the level it is for YC to accumulate enough capital/profit/income whatever from the build to pay for the stadium.
Whilst everything coming out of the meeting appears positive and ought to be applauded, unfortunately it still leaves us at the mercy of YC, their conduct throughout this debacle, complicit or not with WDC, has been pretty leaden footed.
I would have like to have seen the trigger.....triggered as of now at 20k, instead we are relying on businessmen and politicians with agendas we are not parti to.
You don't have to be Einstein to collate some ideas about why the big fridge wasn't included in the trigger total, and I highly doubt it has anything at all to do with its height, heck, they changed that today with the stroke of a pen, so both these buggers have got form.

| A big slap on the back to all posters on this Forum who did their part in applying pressure in one way or another. I'm sure that today's outcome came about through this pressure
I was at the meeting today and it sounded to me as though Peter Box wasn't PROMISING the £2,000,000 or even part of it but merely hoping to do so. Am I correct?

| I wish I could feel positive about this but for some reason it just don't sit right for me, all trust has gone with Yorkcourt and I fear they have more cards up their sleeves, once bitten twice shy but we've been bitten a few times
as for Box my opinion of him will never change
