1st half - our first team getting pummelled by their first team
2nd half - our first pummelled their reserves/u19s.'"
There's more to it than that.
First half: We were poor in a lot of areas, defence being the main one - Cas made plenty of metres and finished clinically.
With the ball, we handled poorly and didn't control the ruck well enough.
2nd half - much more expansive, less handling errors and Williams/Finn/Wood ran the show.
Even though it was vs a lot of younguns, our 2nd half was miles ahead of the 1st in areas that we control, rather than opponent
Put it this way, if we had played 1st half, like we did 2nd half, we would have given starting Cas side a good game.

| I don't think cas are that much better than us. We were dire in the first half. All they had to do was pass it out to their left edge and they scored. Good execution and planning from them to pick out and exploit weak defence from our right fringe.
We changed it up brought on Finn, Wood, BJB and walker. Then the last 10 of the first half we were back in the game. Yes they made changes, for the second half. But they still had plenty of first teamers on the field, I believe it was Rangi that batch blitzed to score his try, and he's no U18.
Take what you want from the game, but for me; Wood proved me wrong about his hooking ability, Finn showed his value to the team, and we showed that we can play some brilliant entertaining rugby. Seeing Huby get stuck in and Kirmond with some fire in his belly was brilliant too. Put England and Fifita in that side and I think weve cause to be optimistic!

| I disagree. I know they are rivals and I want us to be better than them but in all honesty, they are a top 4 side.

Do you really think they are better than Saints, Wigan, Warrington or Hull - seriously?

Me neither but their seems to be a click on here who are Cas obsessed and frankly I find it nauseating and frankly disloyal - I just don't get it.
The Cas wallies who occasionally stray from the nut job forum must be lapping it up - makes you feel proud don't it.

So you are saying you disagree and you think they are 5th best?
I reckon they are better than Saints from last year and there is potential for any of the others to slip. I think Cas had a bad run of injuries to key players last time and still did ok. With Hardaker and Eden added with Shenton and in particular Roberts they have a much better team than last time, so yes I think they are a side that will be competing for the top four along with those you mention, and I reckon they'll get in.

You have the biggest chip on your shoulder I've ever seen, you seem to think everyone is against you.. utterly bizarre.

My question is why do you even care.
My philosophy is that we will finish top and certainly above Cas. If I'm proved wrong and I always am about finishing top so be it but at least I start on a high.
But then I'm not typical of Trinity fans some of whom seem to delight in wallowing in defeatist self pity after 40 minutes of a friendly and then carry on their love affair with Cas - and I don't mean you by the way knowing your ability to misinterpret my every post.
Why not save the misery fest till the end of the season and if you must pat Cas and their Condecending fans on the back at least do so when they have actually done something.
Let's concentrate on our lads, if we aren't willing to be confident why the he'll should we expect them to be. Cue one of belly's Maurice Bamfordesque rants about the 70's and how great they were
In RL terms they are the enemy if we forget that we'll become there second team like we were in the 1990's - trust me you can't trust them

You just proved my point Vasty. People have a different opinion to yours and you take it as a personal attack - you're going at your own fellow fans for not hanging onto your every word and it's very ironic given that you seem to think Cas fans live in their own 'bubble'

To an extent he's right FWIW I don't think you do, nor some others but a fair few do. The years of being on this forum have
shown to some extent he's correct, to a point.

That is the case for a lot of fans, however for someone to think they are immune from criticism is ridiculous.

I hesitate to justify myself Vasty but I will do anyway.
This is a discussion about the Cas friendly. I went to the game and through my own limited brain assessed what was going on during the game. That as a Wakefield supporter is mainly about my team but I am also watching the other team, as I'm just clever enough to do both.
My watching what Cas does in no way diminishes my loyalty or passion for Wakefield Trinity.
We are going to play them again this season and it's handy to know how they'll fair. I would go as far as to say if they are on Sky, playing another team I will watch and again in no way will that take anything away from me being a Wakefield Trinity supporter.
I wonder how you decided that Wigan, Sts, Warrington and Hull are better than Cas without being able to watch them? Is it only Cas I'm not allowed to comment on because I go far enough back that Leeds were always our bitter rivals and for that matter Fev when we played them on Boxing Day.
So in summary, get over yourself.
