| Quote: vastman "You know something I don't totally buy that conditioner stuff. Over the last few years I think we have just signed soft or past it players (especially in the pack) and no amount of conditioning will give you heart. Fitness is as much mental as anything and that willingness and desire to go beyond what your opponent will has been missing in some. Clarkson may not be cutting edge but he's not to blame for them running and tackling soft especially as some only do 15 minutes a half.
Nigel Bells lack of "conditioning" was legendary even in the 1980's but he'd go for 80 minutes and I reckon he'd still do it today if you could bring him from the past. I do accept things have changed since then and fitness training as it used to be called is more important and scientific as the game is definitely faster but the fundamental of "ticker" remains exactly the same. This was demonstrated by the Aussies one or two of whom (Sam Thaiday) were absolute porkers compared to the ripped Burgess twins.'"
Plus, one of the "features" of our game for the past few seasons has been poor ball control, whihci, given all the extra defending we've had, any team would look knackered.

| In todays "Daily Mail" of the Rugby League scene, League Weekly, Ferguson is definitely going back to Huddersfield. Shame if true.

I had a flick through League Express and it only mentioned Clough and Gaskell as confirmed signings, with Ellis going to HKR.
Stone is trying to get Jake Mamo from Newcastle Knights but he's had a nasty ankle injury, this could be the signing that decides if Ferguson stays or goes.

| Is the reason allgood has not been announced is we could still be in the hunt for the other fifita brother we can but dream but it says he's looking towards joining a super league club in the latest press release and names us as the team with a serious offer or is it just lazy reporting

I suspect we are just waiting on paperwork in respect to Allgood. There was too much smoke there.
I guess that means we've replaced Anderson, Scruton and Simon with Allgood and Hirst. One more prop required.

The hold up has been concluding the deal to get shut of Tupou. We can't register Allgood until it is official and the quota spot come free.

| I heard a rumour but I'm not 100% how true they are. It seems like a couple of players need to go and this is proving tricky, then we can make signings. It came from either Carter or Chester apparently. Not reporting it as fact as I really don't know but seems to fit current situation.

I'd have thought that having just lost Simon with a bit of a fee coming in, especially as it wasn't expected that would be a straight one out, one in. Add that to Tupou looking to be not coming back, as well as the impending Moore situation, it would free up a fair bit of our Cap.

It will but most of it is not free yet and also Moore and Simon were not quota players so will have to be replaced by non quota players.

Aye yes I get that. It was more a point of we won't need to lose more players to bring more in, we're already lost a fair few.

From the footage I've seen he runs straigh and hard but nothing fancy. Likes to tackle and niggle, he certainly likes the rough stuff. At 6'4' and over 17.5 stone he's the fourth big unit, with both England more or less identical in size whils Fifita is over 18 stone. Hirst is a tad smaller, from what I can gather around 6'2' and 17 stone but still pretty big.
Size alone won't create a dominant pack but it's a start and a far cry from playing people like Anakin in that position. If the attitudes right that front row should now be able to compete with the bigger and better packs in SL, with only Hirst as a bit of an unknown.
Before my mate Belly starts, I like Anakin but he ain't a prop and I also think Huby is probably better than Allgood but none the less he looks a good signing fingers crossed.

I haven't seen much of Allgood, but that was the impression I got when I did; big, hard and likes to impose himself - not bad qualities to add to a pack that has proved pretty easy to dominate.

| Also with a season under his belt in the UK I am sure we will see a better player next season, usually takes a lot of Aussies etc a season to settle, this could be a great signing
