| I think he'd be best switching code and moving country, get him playing Union in France or England for a couple of years, let him get his head back into the game properly. It'll be a huge waste of talent if he leaves the game completely. (It'd be epic if we managed to have both of them though, the other clubs wouldn't know what hit them!!)
Not sure what's gone on with Tasi, I can't say I've paid much attention though. My hope is that Fifita does stay with us for another season, he had it tough when he arrived, we'd just started to pick up loads of injuries and needed him to fill some big boots straight away. I'd like to see what he goes like with a full preseason and a fit team around him

| Quote: asmadasa "As others have said its way too early yet to predict a teams performance next year when squads haven't been finalised.
Its clear that at least one more prop is required if not two with only England, Hirst and Arona (as cover)... can see Walker following Yates out of the squad.
At present Trinity clearly do not have enough depth in the front row but I'm sure CC & MC will be working behind the scenes to rectify that. If the team strengthen in this area sufficiently then I'm sure there is sufficient quality in the backs to benefit. Fingers crossed with injuries and form and hopefully another top 8 next year!
Just don't bring in Crabtree or Huby...
This - with the exception of Arona who I don't see as any more of a prop than say Ashurst or Kirmond.

| No Arona, although hasn't let us down, he isn't a prop.
Could he be the long term answer to our hunt for a back rower, that Chessie has been mentioning.
He topped the tackle count for us last season, so wouldn't want him to be just cast aside. He got through a lot of work for us last year.

He also made the 2nd most meters in the Club behind Johnstone, then 5 backs then the next forward is Simon.

| My team at the minute from those contracted:
Max
Johnson
Gibson
MCB
BJB
MIller
Williams
England
Moore
Hirst
Ashurst
Crowther
Seo
Lyne
Finn
Simon
Arona
I'm sure I've missed people in the forwards but the lack of recognised props is worrying. Need 2 props on bench imo. Kirmo's injury looked bad and I'm not sure he's up to a starting spot any more unfortunately same with A Tupou. Its all gone quiet on the injury front with Anakin but didn't sound good. Backs have plenty of depth and speed we just need a platform for them to perform from. Ideally I'd have Arona at 2nd row and Simon at loose.

| I would pretty much go with the same team, and yes two out and out props on the bench.
Like you say, if we can get in the props we need, the forwards could probably look different.
For me here, the only definate changes is that Arona would start in the second row, and rather than having Lyne on the bench, would probably go with someone who can play in the backs and the forwards. With that, I would go with Bill Tupou

Grix at starting FB ahead of Max ??
Although Grix has more experience, Max has been superb for us and I would have thought that he would have the No 1 jersey next season.

Interested that you've gone for Grix. I suspect you'll get some stckn but I'm interested as to why I'm certainly not dismissing it. Ditto Tupou in and kirmond out. You clearly rate Batchelor.

| Our defence is an issue and a key element of Full Back play that doesn't seem a strong part of Max Jowitt's game is organising play from the back. It's the Full Back who has control of the numbering up behind every play the ball and it's his communicative skills and decision making that help make for an efficient defensive line.
Scott Grix is excellent at this and will make a difference to our defence, I fully expect Jowitt to learn a lot from Grix and add this and other things to his game.
That's not the only reason but it's a big one.
Max is still young to be playing 20+ continuous Super League games and having someone take part of that pressure off him will aid his development not hinder it.

So because I didn't disagree with you you're happy to talk sensibly now, not great man management there Coach.
As it happens I get what you are saying and broadly agree other than I'd give it to Jowitt to lose rather than making him fight to get it back - that could be sole detroying for a youngster imho.
