What's wrong with Joe Cobb? He's certainly one of the better refs going.

| Quote: supercat "We need to win 2 out of 4. Not for safety but to get people interested in the top 8 games. Last season Hull made top eight but we're that far off they didn't get the crowds to cover their overheads so ended up up making a loss.'"
At the risk of sounding like James Webster, we dont have much to play for if we get in the top 8.
I think the top 4 as they are, is certain to be the top 4 after the Super 8's.
Our main aim (assuming we get there) will be to get the squad as fit as possible and ready to have a real good tilt at Wire in the semi final.
The season has already surpassed anyones most optimistic predictions and whilst nobody wants us to lose any games, surely the cup is our main priority now.
Having said that, we should give Saints a good game on Sunday and if confidence returns, we may upset some of the "bigger" clubs.

| We still need to win 1 game in my eyes!!! all concentration on sunday!!!anybody know when A TOPOU is due back-
I will be counting the bottom 4 loses off - at present there are still 4 teams that could put us in 9th spot- Realistically and hopefully they could all lose this
weekend.

| It's quite simple...we need one more win to all but guarantee a top 8 finish and we need to put everything into getting it Sunday...win Sunday and we give ourselves the best possible chance to prepare for a massive go at the semi final...
Lose on Sunday then we've 2 tough away games which will be tough to get anything from...we don't want to put ourselves in the position on needing to throw everything into a local derby against Cas to get 2 points a week before the semi final...
Huge game Sunday for both our top 8 and semi final chances IMO...if this poor weather does go through into Sunday we need to learn big lessons from the Leeds game and playing the conditions right...

| Sunday has to be about completion and discipline - they're the things that have persistently let us down during the recent run of poor results, Shudds notwithstanding.
If we get and keep the ball, complete our sets and defend in an honest way, chances will come; if we persistently chance our arms and try to score from our own 20, we'll end up in another pickle. And don't play silly beggars with Mr Cobb - we know he's easily influenced and a bit naïve, and you can be sure Saints will exploit that - Wilkin will be in his ear all night for starters.

| Like many of the teams in SL, player for player Saints are probably better than us - we all know that. However this season it's been marginal in most cases.
Now Saints caught us at their place at an understandable low point.
Now I have a very low opinion of Cunningham both as a player and a Coach and my hope is that the last time we played Saints is how he will remember us - I seriously doubt a man as arrogant as he is would have taken any notice of us since. Cunningham mass Wane look gracious!
Now he might have learned his lesson after 2 seasons in charge but I doubt it. Saints are an arrogant club as are many of their fans, but for them I can see some justification.
Cunningham is a hugely arrogant coach, something I see no justification for at all.
If we approach this game properly and Cunningham continues to be himself we have a decent chance as we do against all our remaining opposition. We can only control what team performance we give, the rest is up to him.

| It would be a shame if we did make the top 8 and the games mean nothing -which is probably the way it is going to go - so yeh win as many games as we can would be nice so that interest is there ...
although my enjoyment if we make top 8 is going to come from watching the other clubs battle it out ....
we with a win and or the bottom 4 losing this weekend will put it to bed early.
And a semi final apperence to look forward to and we can all say what a season!!!

The bggest thing in the top 8 for me is big attendances.
We'll miss Leeds but playing all the top teams will keep Carter's pockets full of notes rather than the small change from the visit from London or Batley (or Huddersfield)..not disrespect to London or Batley, I'm sure clubs feel the same about us.
Obviously being in a position to win some of those will bring our crowd in too.
We'd have to go on another Chester-run but it's possible. If not, I'd still like to finish higher than Cas.

| For me, finishing in the top 8 is about extra crowds, a bit of positive publicity for the club and silencing a few doubters.
I also feel that there is a bigger picture, it is also about being able to plan ahead to the following season well in advance, ahead of some other teams, without the air of uncertainty. One of the things I mean regarding this, is the fact that those in the middle 8's may be apprehensive about making signings early for 2017. We may for once get the cream of the crop for any possible new signings, instead of dregs in some instances

| Top 8 is about not being in that million pound game, nothing more, because whoever finishes 9th could quite easily be in it, with the other teams in there. This could be the last year of it being a problem. Bradford fans are already talking about going part-time because of the 500K they'll miss out on if they stay in 5th, and Beaumont at Leigh will start getting sick of pumping in money if they don't make a dent once more. Owners of Championship clubs might see it as a failed project soon if they all get roundly thumped each week. It certainly doesn't work in the top flight either. From 5th to 8th, it's a waste of time.
If we secure it, our focus should be entirely on getting to Wembley. Nothing else will matter if we can get there.
