On a similar theme, I was once in a pub in Masham when in walked the lead vocalist and writer for the Strawbs ie Dave Cousins. After a couple of pints of Old Peculier, the landlord persuaded DC to get his guitar out of his car boot and we had an intimate concert to a couple of dozen people. Again that was special.'"
Mark Knopfler and Brendan croker were two of the main elements of the Notting Hillbillies i believe, One album (Missing presumed having a good time) must dig it out again and have a listen. |

Sepultura, Pantera and Alice in Chains at Nottingham Rock City in the early 90's - not together, that would have been too much to take, but all 3 were brilliant and brutal; Pantera in particular was bordering on scary.
Radiohead in a circus tent in Warrington in October 2000 - amazing.
Jack White at the Leeds Arena in Nov 2014 - one of my idols, a brilliant musician and a fantastic show; and the support act from that night, Lucius, back in Leeds at the Brudenell Social Club a couple of weekends ago headlining their own tour - not my usual fare, but a brilliant live sound, and met them afterwards like a proper fanboy.

Two of the best band's I have seen live though very under rates are The Beautiful South and Deacon Blue. I have seen both band's several times.
Every time I have seen them they have good rapport with fans and are pitch perfect.
Saw Paul Heaton last month he was good as he played Housemartins Beautiful South and stuff he's done with Jacqui Abbot
