Bur still doesn't detract from the point, that Scruton is level headed enough to know when to bask and when to graft.

Some of you on here need to reign the criticism in, your bagging of Scruton is out of order, he plays pretty well most games and certainly gets the odd try more than your average prop. Probably what you don't know is the he was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes around the same time as he joined us. That's a hell of a condition for anyone to come to terms with and can take years and years to get under control. For a professional player to maintain their career is almost impossible so cut the bloke some slack eh!

Hard as that condition is, Scruton and any other player should be selected on performance not how hard it is for them.
Judging his character by considering his issues is another thing altogether.
I'm sure he's inspirational to other players because of his work ethic.

Saying that, if I were to judge him purely on playing ability, he is 2nd or third best prop in our team depending on your view on Simon (England being best imho). When you need 4 props and sometimes 5, his place in the team is valuable.
Will he play for England now? No.
Is he good enough for us? Yes.

too many posts on here have a personal agenda and some use derogatory names for players that allude to their character rather than their onfield ability. The OP of this thread almost always refers to Scruton in a personal and derogatory way.

Totally agree Avenger, he gets my goat every time (the OP) when he jumps in with his big size 11's. There is no need to bag anyone in that manner let alone when you've got all your facts wrong in the first place. I mean, if you don't know the guy's name and you're a supposed 'supporter' of the team then you're gonna be clueless when it comes down to airing your views. I'm all for free speech and all that but personal abuse gets me where I just have to respond.

There's some fickle folk on here. Scruton has two decent games and they start blowing smoke up his . He's been e for the previous 30. He wasn't even that good against Huddersfield - probably the worst forward on the pitch (simon, england and hudds forwards were all better). Today however, he was much much much better than any point in the last 30 times I've seen him.

Scruton was very good today, worked hard and put in big minutes. I think he is playing better because a out and out hooker in Moore is leading him onto the ball.

Although only 2 games into Chester's reign, Scrutton appears to have been unleashed on the opposition.
Certainly his best 2 games for Trinity and he appears to be working much harder for the new gaffer.

Really impressed on Friday and again today, in both attack and defence.

Pathetic post on today of all days. He isn't explosive like Simon but he puts the hard graft in down the middle where it is not as obvious to the casual observer. He tackles well and he has the respect of all his team-mates. Don't tell me, you'd rather have Anakin running in at full pelt, missing tackles and giving penalties away?
