| If the story on Smith is true then I'm inclined to say he wasn't at the right place.
I still like him and think he's a good coach and should be respected but you have to know and appreciate the area you are working in. I'm not sure he did.
It would have been better if Cater had never convinced him to come back this year. Smith said it was short term and shouldn't have changed his mind.
On tonight's game, and there after, it will be interesting to see how the same players who aren't quite performing come out and play now.
I don't think we'll see a massive change tonight, though Miller seems to play his best against Hull, but once Chester starts working in earnest I hope to see good things happening.

For what it's worth, I've heard (from a very reliable source) similar stories re BS; also, that his man management techniques were... interesting; he apparently lost the players as a group through his treatment of some individuals - individuals who the rest of the group respected and looked up to.
I'm not for pandering to player power, but it's important when managing a team to understand the dynamic that exists within it - maybe he didn't want to/wasn't able to? And as much as player power should be resisted, so should manager power - it doesn't do to come in relatively new to an organisation and expect to bend it to your will through force of personality and the wielding of power - you sort of have to earn the right, not least by setting out a strategy, helping people understand what you want to change and why, and making sure they're invested in your changes as you go along.'"
Very well put.

If we're going to be really pedantic
The tablets of stone aledgedly written on by God were thrown down and broken by Moses when he saw the Isrealites worshiping a false God.
The Ten Commandments were then written onto new tablets of stone by someone, probably not Moses but at least supervised by him.

I'm sure Wally Lewis passed the tablets 50 yards like a tracer bullet at the bottom of Mount Sinai.
I'm enjoying this religious debate, praise be to you all...

It is "Fifita" not "Fafita"
If you don't know the difference between "there", "their" and "they're" I might get annoyed.

| Sounds like the usual story, too many penalties and too much dropped ball.

| They fronted up fairly well in defence. Got in the right positions but once in those positions really seemed to be completely clueless. Tom Johnstone impressive again. Gibson did pretty well. Finn tries hard but as we know lacks pace, Miller was better without being outstanding. Losing England early on was a big blow. Hulls second try was never in this world a try. Michaels dropped the ball and out his hands up giving himself up, th crowd all groaned in unison and then child's told him to play on! I know they say play to the whistle but god that was shocking! Jowitt was solid as well. No one was poor really but I'd say hulls forwards were better than wakeys on the whole.

| It was silly not to play to the whistle you're right but it was that obvious a knock on that both sides actually stopped. Michaels gave himself up completely and then child's told him to carry on! Gave some baffling decisions both ways. Should be demoted after that display he really was that bad, again for both teams. Demote him though and who takes his place? Groves was better than both Hocks and Child's for me and the RFL have let him go!

Listened on the radio and while they are normally quite biased they said fair play to Wakefields defence but some of the decisions from Child's were baffling. The mans a numpty and while he can't be blamed for our handling errors he shouldn't be allowed to ref at this level until he has proven himself

| He was by no means the reason Wakey lost, far from it. The reason was they couldn't turn pressure in to points and some of the justified penalties were silly. Another baffler kick goes up ball bounces in to a Wakey players hands, player scores, ref pulls it back and awards Wakey a penalty???

“We will not accept a top eight finish as a barometer of supposed success at any point in the future whilst I am the owner of this club.
Thats why you got the Bullet Agar...Adam Pearson wants winners...not useless gits like you.

The penalty was for blocking a on rushing player and the ball went forward from the bounce so no try and back to original pen.

| 2 tries in 160 minutes of RL is a bit concerning.

Chester has his work cut out. He has to fix a leaky defence whilst sharpening up a blunt attack. Not easy.
