| The job of commentating should be given to Phil Clarke. He is knowledgeable, pleasant and does not diss teams. Plus he has more diplomacy in his widget than Stevo or Hemmings have in their whole fatty tissue.

| Can't understand why people think they have a vendetta against us. They are just trying to make the tv coverage interesting and the "interesting" angle to the Middle 8s is if one of the Championship teams beats a Super League team. They are just pushing that as much as they can, especially when the Champs are getting a beating.

They should be calling the game as it unfolds - not constantly trying to create some pathetic narrative that fits their preferred outcome and the rehed one-liners they've come up with for the occasion; it short-changes the game and its fans massively to have Eddie and Stevo as its public faces/voices - neither of them are fit for purpose and haven't been for many years.
The only person on the team currently able to call a game is Brian Carney; he must feel like Prince Charles, waiting for the Queen to shuffle off this mortal coil so he can have a go; and the excellent Jon Wells does a fine job of analysing the important plays at half time. The rest of em are a bleedin joke, on the Sky gravy train and getting money for old rope.

Sorry Pop Tart I can't agree with that at all. Do you honestly think if we were the championship team they would big us up the same way? They can't wait to get us out, the commentary team, the powers that be, even all the other middle 8 teams would rather have us down than anybody else. I've been on all the other boards and reading the comments mainly on the Leigh forum apparently the rules ought to be changed now to relegate the bottom team, promote the top team and let the other 6 play off. Before these middle 8's began apparently it was the greatest idea the RL have come up with, what a surprise now they've lost a couple some of them aren't happy and apparently we're first in the firing line.

| They have always been condescending and patronising towards us. Any respect or praise we have had off them has been begrudgingly given. I'll never forget that night at Oakwell when we beat the previously unbeaten Saints, then watching the recording on Sky, listening to Eddie saying, don't adjust your sets, that really is the scoreline, little old Wakefield beating the mighty Saints etc etc.....!! Poor Eddie indeedy.....

| I've spoken to Eddie and he has a complete dislike of coming to Wakefield to commentate which he hides under a very thin veneer of professional conduct. Both he and Stevo hate the walk through the crowd and the climb up to their commentary position, they see it as beneath them to be plying their trade from such poor facilities. They're both used to having a modern stadium executive box or purpose built TV gantry accompanied by dedicated green room where they can be received, have a coffee, take a break and prepare properly. Eddie in particular would give his right arm to get Wakefield out of Super League, remember his absolute elation leading up to the franchise decision where we were expected to be removed, he could'nt contain himself.
The blokes a prize knob and thinks the Super League should be moulded around his view of the game.

| And yet every forum on here thinks they love the other team more.
Wigan think they love Sinfield and the 'wide to....' Sts comments.
Leeds think they favour Wigan, especially Clarke of course.
Huddersfield complain they always call them chokers
The list is endless and can't all be true.

| He has of course never played the game which of course speaks volumes.
I watched the game on Saturday whilst crossing the Irish Sea on a very large ferry. The volume was turned down for the benefit of the other travelling folk and in a funny sort of way for me as well.
The man along with his old mate are quite simply sheeeeiiiiiite

| Eddie forgot to mention the 80-0 thrashing we took from Warrington earlier this season. He generally gets at least a couple of referrals in.

| Well sky have just produced a insight in to the 8s on boots and all. It showed the players that have signed for Wakey since B Smith joined, it did not however show the players that have gone. Eddy bless him admitted that no rules had been broken but that it was not in the spirit of the game.
Paul Rowley also chipped in with his views on the same subject and stated that the first two rounds would always have proved difficult because of S L opposition.
All agreed how important the game on Saturday would be.

I'm glad I don't watch that crap anymore. I didn't hear Rowley complaining before the 8s, were these rules not applicable to all clubs. Did Rowley and the Sky pundits support the format when it was first announced? I suspect he was suffering from the same delusions as the Leigh fans thinking hammering Part timers is an indication of performance against fulltimers playing for their careers.
