Like TRB says, every year players leave and suddenly they're the best thing since sliced bread when at another club.It won't be the first time and I'd definately won't be the last,we just have to live with it

| Quote: TRB "We've been there before. The squad that finished 2005 in style were largely gone by 2006, but they still did the job and will remember that campaign for the rest of their lives, as will we!
This squad now have the chance to create their own history and place in our list of great achievers! It's up to them now!'"
List of great achievers come on get real it's been the most miserable season in years. Avoiding relegation after finishing bottom (presuming we do) is hardly a great achievement. This squad had the ability to finish top 8 had they shown the heart commitment passion and desire to do so. If they finish bottom after the regular season (something we have avoided with far worse squads) then this side will go down as the great under achievers not the great achievers. Add to the fact they got dumped out of the cup by a championship side then that certainly confirms it!

| From what Smith has said about training and preparation methods it looks like that along with low confidence are the main issues. Wonder if Smith will stick with Clawson?
He's stated he is gradually increasing to the training levels they should be preparing at over the coming weeks and Trinity being some way behind that of an NRL team He has coached in the past.
Smith has said 'Need to win the collision' which should continually be ringing in the player's ears.
Strange but this is like Smith's pre season.....As others have said he is the coach equivalent of Wally Lewis playing for Trinity.

The most memorable thing most of the 2005 squad did was during the survival push under Kear. JD's run at Bradford, Solo putting Semi in at the corner in the same game, Montys punch up, etc. can you remember a single detail from the rest of that awful season? Yet we revere that side as being great achievers. This season can be exactly the same and the opportunity fully exists. Either that or they will go down in history as losers and will be remembered for all the bad things.
Under Brian we have the chance to wipe the slate clean and start again. Let's take that opportunity and create positive memories for everyone at the club - it can be done!

Realism: I went to Bradford as my last ever away game, I had lost all hope and expected relegation - yes it was exciting and watching the screen record Cas's loss gave me new impetus going into the 'million pound' game - but I have not been as low this season as I was then - when I really thought about giving it away. Maybe my expectations were lowered after that season but some of the players were giving a last hurrah as they left - not seen earlier in the piece

| Two players who's contracts are coming to an end at their clubs, and who would make an immediate impact at Trinity would be Michael Gordon and Chris Heighington.

Didn't Heighington play for England a few years back also?
Didn't look much but playing in the NRL is a million miles away from SL.
