If the worst case scenario is realised, and you drop out of Super League and are left without a ground, are there no options in Wakefield where you could share even short term?
Could Sandal RU be brought up to a reasonable standard via fundraising for a temporary stand/toilets etc? Or share at one of the Ossett football clubs - ok it's outside of the city but still a lot closer than Castleford/Doncaster etc. College Grove has been turned into Hockey pitches but I imagine it's possible to convert into a rugby pitch if it's financially beneficial to them.

Sandal RU has capacity of a maybe couple of hundred ??, just 1 very small stand so is a non runner
College Grove, just hockey so another non runner
Ossett Town, capacity of a couple of thousand, so another non runner (although with dwindling attendances it may be big enough)
Dewsbury Rams, capacity of 3000, so again not big enough
Fev would be closest and probably big enough in the short term but, as others have said, unless it was a stop gap whilst say, Belle Vue was being up graded, a ground share with another RL club would nail the coffin lid on Trinity |

£702 Million for a 54,000 seat Stadium
More expensive per seat that the extremely over budget and extravagant New Wembley
£272 Million of that is purely for the conversion from Athletics to Football, it's obscene!
West Ham are contributing just £15 Million towards the costs and will then take ownership of the stadium. Like cashed up Premier League football clubs need a £687 Million pound handout don't they!
We can't bloody get funding for a 10,000 seat glorified bus shelter!
Don't tell me there's no North South divide

If it's posturing from the club then it's a bad idea. Trinity will not survive outside of Wakefield without a guarantee of their return to the city. |
