MC is an accountant and in my experience accountants don't like spending any money speculatively. He is going to have to change this stance to some degree or the club will dwindle away pretty soon.

Very frustrating at the minute. I'm still of the belief that when we get our first 17 on the pitch we will cause some damage, that Webster is a good coach and that MC is doing the very best he can. The balance isn't right. Glover and co knew how to sell optimism. The fact that the foundations were unsteady didn't matter to those coming through the door. We won't build unless we get people back on the terraces. The approach of "real fans stick with us" just gets the backs up of everyone else (you only have to look at the Shankly quote on MC's Twitter feed to get the underlying current). As someone has said, it wouldn't take much to get the crowds back. The will is there. But you've got to encourage the occasional fan and try and turn them into diehards. A "diehards only" approach will sink us.

I thought the atmosphere in the North Stand was good last night really got behind the lads. Keep that North Stand atmosphere for the cup game and the middle 8s and it will lift the lads. Agree away games are usually an altogether atmosphere but the north stand has that feeling last night.

Interesting that you point out the atmosphere generated on Thursday , on the telly it just didn't come over at all , no singing,no cheering when either team scored , only conclusion I could make is SKY messed up the positioning of the microphones
