Hope it's better than that useless sod at Cas who sang it.

| Quote: vastman "To be honest it's the Powell bit I don't get and it's got to be where it all goes wrong if it does
Powell has been coaching since 2001 and has been unexceptional wherever he went even in RU. He had a little cup run with Fev which was great but it happens. Where did he suddenly make this leap to super coach? I grant you that he may have learned as he's gone along but still it seems to good to be true to me.
On a personal note I've met the gut twice. Both times he struck me as astonishingly ordinary. Nothing wrong with that in most jobs but as a coach mmm. On the second occasion I met him he was with Gary Hetherington - I asked them both to join SWAG for Thornes Park. Hetherington did it straight away but Powell turned around and asked Hetherington if he could. Gary said yes but Powell was still unsure and asked me to grab him later. Not willing to let him off as a big name at the time I copped him later where after more procrastination he grudgingly signed the dotted line. Remember this was just a signature of support for the idea, it wasn't even a complaint at the time as everyone was up for it - so what exactly was there to think about - make of that what you will.
For me it certainly didn't show a great leader of men or a visionary for the game. Maybe I'm wrong and got a wrong impression or he's changed and grown, hell we all do. However it left me unimpressed and whenever his name was mentioned as a coach for us it immediately put me against him as a choice.
Maybe I'm wrong, in fact on current form I'm way off but next year will be the key for me - some key players leaving Cas with Clark an almost irreplaceable - we'll see.'"
You could describe Alf Ramsey as astonishingly ordinary. In fact you could describe most of this years super league coaches as astonishingly ordinary. Why would you actually remember an occasion when you met some one if they were astonishingly ordinary, or are you just making it up to justify your post. Some of the greatest RL coaches ever have been astonishingly ordinary and long may it continue, its what sets this great game apart from lesser sports. Cas were astonishingly ordinary tonight.

Which he is, and that's probably the reason the team and fans have got behind him.
He used to live next door to my aunty and uncle in the early 90s, at that time he would have been a GB international. In the Summer holidays I used to stay at theirs for a week with my cousin. On one unfortunate occasion I stupidly left my BMX at the bottom of the drive where it was unsighted and Daryl reversed over the front wheel with his car! He came running to my cousins door and was devastated despite me assuring him it was totally my own fault and I knew someone who could fix it. He offered to pay for the repair, even offered to buy me a new bike if I couldn't get it fixed. The next time I saw him after the event he went out of his way to ask me if I'd got the bike sorted.

| I wasn't going to adress this on here but I felt like better here than on the Facebook page.i don't really use Facebook, I have around 6 friends (lol) but I keep an eye on what all the young lads are saying on what the call the" north standers" a young lad posted something similar to the op on the Facebook page and was shocked that there was not one person on there that showed any sort of remorse with there replies. And it seems it's ended up with the lad removing himself from the page as he was forced by our own fans. The term "inbred" is very commonly used on that page, a joke is a joke and I get that and maybe I'm a bit old school but that post showed me a lot of things but mainly the fact that Rugby seems to be turning into the same culture as football with fans insulting each other, and the sense of all togetherness is no longer here anymore in the sport. How can we call this a family game anymore ? "whats it like to **** your mum" was a common chant on Sunday by some of our fans, the bloke next to me was covering his two sons ears and was saying he will think twice about bringing them next time, I told him he's better of away from the north stand at home games as chant like that seem very common.like I say it's probably me just been old fashioned, and waffling on, it's going to happen anyway.

| Ah, Facebook. Where the intelligence levels are similar to those of a fortnight old cauliflower. I got shut of that social networking disease a while back. It was ok in the early days as a way of keeping in touch but the last few years have seen it become a breeding ground for people with very little between the ears. When I read a thread with multiple 'fans' wishing for players to have career ending injuries I knew we were dealing with a totally different beast.

Amen to that. The thinking man's social networking. 140 characters is a great damage limiter!
