Someone on Sunday said that we are about to announce the signing of 2 well known props from the NRL (- no specific names mentioned). It is alleged that one of them turned down a better paying offer in the NRL to come here. Make of that what you will. Maybe our current Aussie connections are selling a good gig here.

As for the loss of Tautai, I thought Matty Ashurst was signed to cover his position.

For me its a big turn around on last year, we were having an exodus this year we are doing the opposite. Whoever we sign ill get behind and not judge. No one was expecting Kirmond to turn out good etc!

If weve signed Owen why havent we announced it? Cas dont want him so nothing stopping us announcing it if he has actually signed.

Cas don't want him and there is not an bun fight for his signature from anyone else.
Maybe making Owen sweat and really prove he is consistent enough right til the end of the season and beyond.
In the mean time weighing up other options.

Two different players surely. Ashurst a hardworking 2nd rower and Tautai an explosive prop.

As stated by earlier poster...

Tautai is a 17 1/2 stone 6 foot 3 inch tall impact prop.
Ashurst is a 15 1/2 stone 6 foot tall second row who plays long minutes and is expected to do likewise with Wakey hopefully striking up a good partnership with Kirmond although I'm disappointed Walshaw/Annakin haven't been seen to be up to that role next season.

Maybe if Annakin hadn't got suspended for 29% of the season had would gave had a chance Lubyanka has had his fair share of injuries too

A damn good fullback should be priority now that Mathers wont be with us but finding one isn't that easy Eden has been mentioned but he drops more clangers than a bad campanologist.

Maybe Webster believes we already have full-back cover with Hall, Sammut, Owen + youngsters
